Brave would be one word to describe buying that. Bonkers would be another.

Without a lot more info it’s worth the sum of it’s parts to a breaker.

Have you seen the other lots? Worth a flick through for comedy value. I'm not sure all of them can be accurately described as cars any more.

There’s some rubbish in there, but there are some gems as well. Fulvia, couple of Alfa’s the 6ers, the Hartage 750, lotus cortina, some of the Mercs.... all will probably fetch decent money from restorers.

Problem with the 996 is it’s not going to be worth much even if it’s tip top.

The 928 caught my eye:

Possibly a world of pain, but they are creeping up in value.

The guy liked his BMW 635 CSis - I counted around five, but they all looked quite sorry for themselves.

I like that - hyper-connected - although reality is surely a poor choice unless you believe there are several realities or different dimensions maybe.

It's gone out of the hyper-connected reality window.

Just had my 2000 C4 in for it's MOT & this time it needed work, front brake pipes! it was in for a yearly check & minor service at the same time. Bill came to £480. Add that to the £50 from last year & it has cost me the outrageous amount of £530.00 to run the car for 2 years. I'll admit I don't use it as much as I should, 2000 miles per annum for last 3 years.
Add road tax & insurance & we are up to a whopping £1200 for 2 years. I will put it this way, my phone costs more than my 996 :-)
Once we add man maths into it, I (& my indy) honestly believe I would get £1200 more than I paid for it if I sold it.
So am I a celebrity? because by my reckoning I am getting paid to drive a 911...………...

I haven't driven mine since beginning of August - when I moved to Spain.

I'm storing it at my brother-in-laws place whilst I'm here and he's supposed to be starting it up once a week... he called me a few weeks ago to say the battery was flat and he couldn't get the trunk open... I talked him through how to jump it from the terminals in the engine bay, and it immediately sprang in to life... just hearing it burbling away over the phone line gave me a lift.

I'm back in the UK next week to bring my leased Touareg back. I'm not much looking forward to the 1,000km drive, followed by 29 hours on a ferry (Santander-Portsmouth), and another 2 hour drive to Essex. But I am very much looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of her whilst I'm over there biggrin

Just had mine MOT today. It passed. I had not driven it for 10 or 11 weeks. Was left outside. Fired up with jump leads. I left it running at the MOT place and until I got back home. After about 2 hours turned off outside I went to try it and it fired up fine. Here is my mileage

That’s great news ATM.

I don’t like yo leave mine unused, but the situation is what it is.

Fired up fine this morning and managed to negotiate the 4 miles to work.

That's a fiesta on the left. I'm classing that as a small car. Surely a focus would be medium?

I thought it was a focus (on my phone). Ridiculous how big cars have got nowadays.
