That's a cracker - what size are the Fuchs please and where did you get them...?
Thanks. Matt at Porschacare sourced them for me.
They're 18s. Need to check to remind myself of width/offset but they take a standard tyre.
Thanks Rich, duly noted for future reference wink

I've seen the odd few 996s in passing with Fuchs on and more recently a Boxster which I think lives not far from me, it had also been lowered quite a bit, the Fuchs makes a heck of a difference to the overall look of the car. Not for everyone but I like 'em.
I think that's right - they're expensive, and some people hate the look, but I love them on mine.

As for size, my old 996 had 17s, my current one is on 18s. I wouldn't say I have a preference either way, but a lot is dependent on what suspension you're running in my view.

The Fuchs vs the BBS GT3 wheels on the other hand made a big difference. There's a big difference through the wheel (crisper with the lighter wheels).

Likewise, going up 10mm in width at the front was noticable. The 235s have more weight through the wheel but more bite (PS4 vs PS4).

I'm happy with 235s on the 18" Fuchs.
I thought wider front tyres make the steering duller.

Not sure I have a sufficient road testers vocabulary but I wouldn't use the word duller. Meatier maybe?! I know what it feels like and what I prefer but it's hard to describe.
I'd accept that the heavier wheels felt duller/lighter wheels were brighter.

On a side note, the Fuchs are a pain if you like to use hand car washes.

One of my PH friends has been 996 shopping today....I'm just waiting for the official announcement of his purchase as having found him the car I wouldn't travel yesterday when Tsunami conditions occurred in the Midlands. There appear to be some good value cars appearing for sale privately that seem to be selling quite quickly (a GR Carrera with aerokit earlier this week being one of them).

I'm shopping, any tips on sources I might not be looking at (AT, Ebay, etc). Ta

Car and Classic can sometimes throw up some interesting cars and also the 911uk forum will have people saying about the possibility of selling. There have been a few sub £13k cars in the last week or so that have surprised me. If you’re really cheeky, you might get a bargain though use the online MOT history check as part of your research as it might show advisories to use as a negotiating tool. IMO if a car doesn’t sell in the next week or so, the sellers could be sitting on them until Jan/Feb time.

Think what I'm ideally after isn't that common:

Aero kit
Black interior
Ideally C2
Manual
Coupe
Ideally not silver

FGP have a nice Guards Red that was on FB for a while, if that came up privately now I'd have it.

Hadn't considered C&C ads, have now set up an alert, thx

Do a search on 911UK about FGP, there was a thread a year or so ago which would make make me want to do some more digging on them first.

It might be worth putting a post on there saying you're looking for a car in case someone is thinking about selling one

Don't discount C4's, you can pull the front drive gubbins pretty easily, slot in Boxster S uprights and suspension struts and you have the stiffest narrow body shell with rear wheel drive.

I have just swapped my TVR for this spec in silver with split rims, sun-roof delete and Alcantara and PSM suspension! Great car and enjoying it so far! It was for sale for a few months and I think I might have got myself more of a desirable car than I realised!

The red thing at FGP is a 3.6 I'm afraid.

For some balance, my car came from Luke and it has been fine. He sorted a few niggles, and bought back some bits once I started upgrading.

I know of a few other purchasers who have had decent cars from him with no complaints. FGP aren't 911V, but he does manage to get some decent 3.4s in.

That could be a few tweaks away from being a great car. I really like vesuvius.

Colour is fabulous and it sits nicely. Other bits less so - looks like it’s on 19’s, and the interior is a bit of a dogs dinner trying to hide the original grey.

It looks too violet to be Vers. interesting to see colour code sticker. Could be a PTS colour ?
Definitely needs to lose 19s and yellow painted calipers.
Carbon could be factory options, looks correct on first glance. I was tempted to take a look and maybe swap my 996.2 if the 3.4 was a PTS car with lots of factory options.

Agreed, the interior needs some time and money spent on it.

I dont think its versuvious either, it really does look too purple

Has no one noticed the monster brakes on the front. I'm seeing 6 pot calipers, and massive 2 piece floating discs.

Yep, I’d spotted the brakes and the 19” wheels. I directed a friend to this car. It appears to have a Turbo rear bumper (I wonder why?) plus the carbon interior bits. For the £s it didn’t seem overly expensive.

Toy car!

Model 3 is a decent drive - steering is a bit quick for my tastes, but it’s got great turn in and exit traction that makes even a 911 feel a bit soft.
