I'm ashamed to admit that interior colour influenced the car I purchased

This is not the place for self fulfillment and liberation. You need www.SelfHelpAndLiberation.com

Porsche Exclusive scheme has had some horrors in the 996 back catalogue

It's a valid concern unless you spend all your time in the car during hours of darkness.

I agree, my last 996 had grey and it seemed a lot airier than black. Whoever originally ordered it had a bit of a carbon fetish, which helped break up the grey a bit. The steering wheel took things a bit far though.

I had a similar interior with carbon fibre overload when I bought my C4 in 2018 though I’ve swapped the “pews” for something more comfortable IMO from Cobra & although the new ones are mainly trimmed to match OEM, I’ve black alcantara on the centres & changed the carbon fibre wheel (which needed some cosmetic work) for one in black alcantara. I think I’ve gained an alcantara fetish as I’m now getting some of the centre console parts trimmed in alcantara too (used replacement bits). The new bits also help the car interior smell a lot newer hehe

Sorry, not the best photography though you’ll get the idea! As usual a great job on the steering wheel by Jack at Royal Steering Wheels thumbup

Nice

I have some much more racey buckets waiting to go in mine. Still not sure if I am doing the right thing so just wanna try them really.

How do yours attach to the car?

Cobra supplied side mounts & their runner system to allow some adjustment to accommodate different sized drivers wink My 996 doesn’t see any track day activity so it’s very much touring and weekend action & I think the Nogaros are just the right side for what I need. If you install your seats without runners, you’ll certainly feel like you’re sitting on the floor compared to the original seats!

Probably using bolts.

I thrown a pair of Sparco's in mine with Design911 mounts - they're cheap mounts and not the best build quality, I visited the store and 'handled' about 5 sets to find a pair that would slide without issue...

If you look at the GT3 buckets they may look massively uncomfortable, but they're amazing seats. I'd happily do a long journey in them or have them in a daily

I drove to Morzine and back in a Recaro SPG, very comfortable.

What I meant by daily is hoping in & out, not long drives. I would assume one you are in and they are set up correctly they would actually be more comfortable than standard, they just look difficult to get in & out of

I had Recaro SPGs in one of my dailies for 5 years - my back had never been better in all of my life.

I'd love to put them in my 911, but I need rear seat access.
