Ad reads well, Porsche classic head unit nice touch. Seems to be quite a few nice C2 coming on to the market at the moment, certainly more than last year when I was trying to get one. Lucky buyers!

Someone will come up with a reason not to buy it, while some other lucky bugger will get a very nice car at a great price if they are willing to take a riskAd reads well, Porsche classic head unit nice touch. Not common to find a 997 in green:

That green 997.1 has had a 997.2 rear conversion. The lights and bumper look great and really help move the 997 away from looking like a 996 from the rear

Good looking car. Might want a suspension refresh but then again might not.Unfortunately I can’t get half way up the country this weekend so suspect it will go before I have a chance to get there.

The vendor told me last night it has had shocks spring and coffin arms as well as the bits stated in the listing, but he was scant on detail so I don’t know when.

Will they provide you with the reg to check the MOT history? MOT until November means it's not had one since May 2019. Unfortunately I can’t get half way up the country this weekend so suspect it will go before I have a chance to get there.

It's a great way of seeing how well the car has been maintained.

The interior looks well worn for mileage! My 200k miles 997 looks better!

I wouldn't go that far. It wouldn't tell you for example that my car has new dampers, springs and suspension arms, new sports manifolds and cats, gear cables, brakes, etc. Those are the things that cost the real money but won't get a mention.
But it will tell you if the owner has gone to the effort of repairing advisories instead of the faults being ignored for years on end.The nice blue one has had wax oil on the brake pipes. I'd like to see if that was preventative or due to an advisory over corrosion, as the over the gearbox pipe sounds like a mission of a job.
One thing I've noticed now I'm in the hunt, is that sellers are big to list a whole heap of things which have been replaced, but not when. Sometimes when you do a bit of digging, these rebuilt engines could have been 15 plus years and 100,000 miles ago.
If you're looking in the £15k area, the biggest fear for me is getting a car, which instantly needs £10K worth of hidden faults rectifying. I understand the need for an ongoing budget, but would like to aim for around £2K a year to improve and maintain he car myself.

Judging the majority of posts it seems that the average budget for one of these cars is about £15k or so. At that price point I would expect the car not to be perfect and need some sort of work, whether mechanical or cosmetic, depending on how fussy you are.The nice blue one has had wax oil on the brake pipes.
