Who buys a car and does 300 miles in two years? It's probably done that going to and from fgp!

Me smile...61 miles since purchase in April 2016 to MOT in June 2020..I've probably done another 35miles since MOT, trying to make an effort, so call it about 100 miles in 4 years. Spent about £4k on a light mechanical overhaul in June 2020 by a specialist.
(Was stopped by the police at 2am once, during the last 35 miles, (by 3 police cars), ragging the hell out of it, mind you...BMW E34 M5 3.8L 6 Speed.)

BMW E30 M3, bought it in May 2016, and driven 364 KM, circa 224 miles to MOT in July 2020 and possibly about 40 further miles since then. So call it less than 280 miles in 4 years. Spent about £5k making it perfect mechanically during this time (it was very very good when I got it). Some of it with free labour cost, by yours truly.

The 996 is looking like a high miler. 80 miles in the month of September, got it on the 1st of Sept I think, 4 drives in total, to date. Loving it a lot.

The above may seem farcical, I'll admit, but its my reality. I have no aspirations to turn a profit on cars by keeping the miles down etc. I just like owning them, learning the platform and I'm very busy with work.

On the contrary I've done 85K miles in my E39 M5 in 6 years, 2008 and 2014. 29K miles in my M6 Gran Coupe between 2015 and 2018 as daily drivers.

In a world where Porsche's take on tan is more akin to nappy poo and covers every square inch of the interior!

Nope, in underground parking where I live, along with a Rallye Golf that I've owned since 1996 and have put 16K miles on it over 24 years smile

I rent a lock up to house a car which I've owned for the last 8 years. I've spent maybe £5k maintaining the car and have covered a total of 2 miles in those 8 years.

No, this is not the behaviour of a sane person.

The advert is all over the shop. Given the seller doesn't have a clue, you'd probably want to go and check everything yourself.

They can't offer that as a trade sale without any obligation to the buyer unless the buyer is a motor trader. It doesn't matter a jot what they state on the invoice, unless it's a restoration project that needs to be swept up and trailered away.

Any trader that states something like that on an ad would ring alarm bells to me....

What is the current considered break up value of a 996.1?

i.e at what price level can you buy a car that may blow up on the way home and you would not care as you have pretty much only paid what the car is worth in parts + stripping costs etc?

They've also got a cab with 30k more miles for £12995 which leads me to believe this silver car must be a proper rotter in the metal.

This seems like a nice earner, how can I flog my car for £46k? Do these guys just buy cars and double their money?

One of my old school buddies is forever spaffing his cash on these comps, I want in.

Take a look at Best of the Best share price. Recently went bonkers. No idea why but they have been around forever and are clearly making money. They also give you 50k cash with the car too.
