I cancelled them when BBS in Japan wouldn't give an ETA other than "possibly next year".

Thanks for that, shame the rebuilder didn't get mentioned - just 'North London' which is interesting.... Just gave them a ring and the guy was cagey about the rebuilder they use but quoted £1300 for removing the box and getting the work done which is fairly unbelievable value...
It certainly does sound a decent price. For £1300 including removal, repair and refitting, I'd even go that route instead of removing the box myself.

That's shocking! Had you already paid for them via BBS Germany?

I paid for them in order, in September last year, to Driftworks in the UK (who have been blameless in the whole sorry saga).

Yes, I spent the money on just under half a mountain bike.

An excellent replacement! What did you get? Friend of mine had just spent a very substantial wedge on a carbon Santa Cruz...

The LM's would be the roughly equal to the frame and fork, thinking about it.

Warning: Boring ULEZ crap

Got my amended details back from Porsche. My cable throttle, one lambda sensor per bank, non SAI engine looks like it hits Euro 4 out of the box at least according to the AA:

Euro 4 emission limits (petrol)
CO – 1.0 g/km
HC – 0.10 g/km
NOx – 0.08
PM – no limit

https://www.theaa.com/driving-advice/fuels-environ...

This should mean that all 996's are ULEZ compliant, whether cable throttle or e-gas, with or without Supplementary Air Injection. Might treat the car to a wash as it's done so well.
With your advice I recently received my Emission Certificate issued by Porsche.

I think as you. and others, have experienced this document still shows the emission levels to be outside of the EURO IV levels

What I received on my emission certificate from Porsche is as follows:

CO: 0.564g/KM (within EURO IV's 1.0g/KM) Your amended CO: 0.269g/KM

HC: 0.152g/KM (outside EURO IV's 0.10g/KM)Your amended HC: 0.079g/KM

NOx: 0.035g/KM (within EURO IV's 0.08g/KM) Your amended NOx: 0.055g/KM

HC+NOx: 0.187g/KM (not stated on EURO IV regs., but does sum correctly the levels of HC and NOx as in the lines above) your amended HC+NOx: 0.134g/KM

So my HC is showing as too high as of now.

I presume that your initial Emissions Certificate received from Porsche was similar to my one?

I will follow your advice and write to Porsche and tell them they are wrong and hopefully receive an amended Emission Certificate.

On another note, whilst drunk on Friday evening, I won a 2000, X Plate, 996 Turbo....Interestingly it is ULEZ compliant, straight off the bat!

Hahaha, must have been hitting the hard stuff to go that rogue on ebay. Did you see the turbo the guy was selling at the trade in price he'd been offered on the fb group? I'm not massively into the turbo but even I was tempted.

For ULEZ they only care about the NOx numbers.

Congrats on the purchase of the Turbo!!

What group was that? What was he asking? I'm in no position to buy but interesting to see what could be....

Haha...2 bottles of red, didn't feel too bad to be honest, until the morning smile

Also drove my Carrera the night before and told myself, one doesn't really need more power in this sort of weight / size of car.

I'll check out the FB one you mentioned

Oh wow! Looks like all early 996 3.4s are, or can easily be sorted then...just need to convince TFL of the same now. Thanks for sharing the process with us all

Thanks, should be receiving the Turbo on Thursday. Second 996 purchased blindly in as many months idea

That really needs a 20 or 30mm drop in ride height!

Fair play to the guy he's pushing 996 prices up which is good for those of us already in them!

That car is nice but it's really nothing special - no interesting options at all, not even sports seats. It looks very clean but for that sort of cash I'd be hoping for M030, maybe an LSD or even X51 really. I normally like brown interiors but I'm not sure it works with the red and that particular shade is not for me.

Its reserved. Which I think means a deposit pending viewing? So only potentially sold biggrin

And it still needs some serious ride height adjustment

This didn’t get enough attention! Top work. Let us know how your second brave purchase goes! Are you planning to keep the Carrera?
