I’ve decided not to put winter tyres on mine, chances are this will be the only winter I use the regularly, and I already have winters on the family Passat if we do need to get somewhere.

I will need to sell the 17” 10spokes powder coated grey I bought for them.

This didn’t get enough attention! Top work. Let us know how your second brave purchase goes! Are you planning to keep the Carrera?
Haha thanks !!

Yep won it Friday night. Picked it up last night. Drives very tight and feels solid (31K miles) and great paintwork. Will get to know more about the actual mechanical condition over the next few weeks, history and invoices show lots of love though, I think I have bought very well and so have funds set aside for some remedial works if required.

It drives like a luxury grand tourer, with some serious mid range punch, compared to my Carrera, which is very raw and lithe in comparison, but I love the Carrera too, for what it is. Different recipes for sure.

I am happy to keep to the Carrera. But if anyone is interested, I am always up for a chat. The Carrera has a very nice specification (M014 Sports Package, which includes M030, M220 LSD, M375/376 Hard Backed Sports Seats, and a few other nice bits and subtle upgrades, like, actual hollow spoke Turbo Twists, genuine Porsche 3rd rad, LTT, X51 style sump, 997 Shifter mechanism, Eibach anit roll bars ....76K miles and £20K invoices in the last 5 years sorting out all of the usual 996 common issues, like rads, condensers all brake lines, all AC lines, all coolant lines, timing chain and guides, 02 Sensor, clutch, RMS, IMS, all done by the same owner, amongst the fully stamped up Porsche books)

996 Turbo:

I've always fancied a 996 Turbo in Black or Blue on Savannah, so that combo, the low mileage, manual box and the couple of bottles of red wine, literally pushed me over the edge. To be honest I bid £31K because, thinking there is no way I'd get it at the price, but hey ho its home now, and even met one his brothers last night smile :

Decent reduction now made. I have a trade offer and will let the car go next week unless it's bettered.

This lovely number on Collecting Cars is tempting me, not too high a mileage with (what seems) to be a good SH - what do people think?

I was always telling myself a C4S Coupe was what I would get, but this convertible is very nice, especially in that colour.

I've just had the joy of flat battery due to not moving it for 18 days, at least I learnt a new skill & now know how to open the Frunk if I need to in future.
So with covid not looking like it is going away soon & winter coming in I think it is time to get a trickle charge. What is everyone's preferred model ? It's going to be in the drive next to an outlet but not in the garage if that makes any difrance.
Cheers.

Haha cheers! Girlfriend hasn't quite clocked onto the purchase of the Carrera or the Turbo, although she has seen mail and magazines arriving from Porsche Club GB...yikes

Thanks buddy, love a bit of Blue on Wurther's Original smile

So technically it was £31K + 6% Buyer's Fee, so £32,860 all in.

Also it was only £200 extra premium to have it added onto my Footman James classic group policy with a £40K agreed value on the Turbo.

No, mine’s blue with no graphics. The lad I chatted to had a silver aero kit car. Herts is a hotbed of 996s! I had a chat with a bloke in the Brocket Arms earlier that day who said he’d just bought a 3.6 too.

Mines silver / aero / ambers / fuchs / loud. If you see me about say hi. I've seen a Zenith Blue in St Albans, fairly recently but was with the Mrs.

Herts is well served with specialists and with Luke at FGP in Stevenage its no surprise there's tons about!

Probably me smile Mine’s zenith, turbo wheels and loud... I’ve had it in St Albans for a couple of weeks but it’ll go away for a bit now so you may not see it for a while.

Will keep an eye out for you.

When we're a bit more free to meet we should have a little Herts 996 rendezvous somewhere. Would give me a reason to wash it. There's always South Mimms for a socially distanced Starbucks smile
