Despite my moaning earlier I haven't given up just yet ha ha. However if I pass on it I will let you know and pm the extra info I have been given by the vendor smile
Perfect, thanks.
Interesting, i assume it's the black GT3 kitted C4 in Huntly. If so it's my old car, had it for 2 years and sold it to a chap just North of Aberdeen around Oct time last year.

The sport classic are an 18 inch. Most 996 cars you see on here are all on 18 inch.

I've picked up some original carrera wheels which are 17 inch. Not sure what they're called but have 10 spokes. Not tried them on the car yet.

If they're the same as these:

Then they came on the Targa, and are called Carrera ten spokes (according to Chris at Exel).

I don't know I'm afraid, just parroting what I've been told.

I need to call Chris actually, he's got my set in of a refurb. That said I'm in California from Friday so there's not much point.

Yes that's them. Fronts are feather weights. Will get bathroom scales out.

I changed them for the Carrera five spokes, never had them side by side so I don't know the comparative weights, just had something of a compulsion to get the car onto the bigger wheels. I think the ten spokes look very nice.

As cool as they look it makes the reach for the stalks quite far and obscures the instruments apparently.

Also, the price is a bit wounding...shock horror! It's simply a Momo model 07 with a logo on it. The momo is £143!

I'm not sure if mine is real. Was in the car when I got it. Seller quoted it as a GT2 wheel. People are welcome to have a feel if we ever get a meet up organised???

It is near as damn it the real thing. Only difference with the CUP one is it is Alcantara (not leather) and has Porsche engraved into it on the RH spoke:

No need smile

And yes, they're some of the lightest 17" wheels Porsche has made.

This might sound like a dumb idea..... but has anyone fitted a C4S engine lid to a narrow bodied car?

I reckon it would look good assuming it all aligned up correctly.

laugh

There was a 996C4S in our carpark last week... I had exactly the same thought!!

A ducktail has been a long term plan, but they are just too pricey when other stuff needs attention.

Not sure it would look right guys. The rear clusters are different. There is a swage line that separates the top and bottom half of the cluster that you don't get on the cooking models, Ha.

It has been done before, but it is no direct fit. The hinges are different iirc.
I read about a conversion somewhere on the internet, and I recall the guy hacked both lids apart and welded the lower part of the C4S lid into the old lid as that was apparently easier than getting the hinges right.

Give me a minute, I might find it....
