Go on then, £17k.
Mine is in getting new Bilstein M030 dampers fitted with all the new top mounts, bearing, bump stops etc.
I have just done all the control arms, drop links and tie rods, can't wait to get it Geo'd and back on the road.

Mine’s had the M030 kit fitted along with new brakes, clutch and IMS. Also got the TopGear mild sports exhaust and 200 cell cat along new PS4s and other bits and bobs.

How do find the exhaust note with that combo? I've taken off the dansk super sounds which were fun but a bit agricultural. The top gear mild sports exhaust is a bit dull in comparison however and I was wondering if a decat or sports cats might liven it up a bit?
Here you go. I like it. Deeper and crisper. I’m in front btw https://youtu.be/uH5pvRTSzk8

I have the Top Gear mild sports silencers on mine, I couldn't live with the Dansk Super Sound, they were only fitted 5k miles back, but far too loud for me.
The Top Gear I really like, no droning at all, quiet up to around 2800rpm and then starts to liven up, which is what I want from an exhaust.

So, I'm back in the fold.
Not the C2 I was after however a fairly tidy 99 C4 manual, black with black and hardback sports seats.
A few little bits to sort and the ride height seems fairly high to me so perhaps some suspension work.
Nice to be back though!

No sunroof, as far as i can see. Double nice! Also I really like those wheels on the 996, and hard back sport seats are nice too.
Congratulations!!

Selling for or advertised at?
is it relevant, unless he has changed his business model to start giving huge discounts the gap would still be the same. Here is a 1998 cable throttle C2 with 85K miles on the clock for £12,996.. I think its fair to say there would be a sizeable queue to buy that if it were advertised today for that money.

I paid under £13k for my 2001 C4 at the start of the year, a car that has had £10k spent on getting it right over the last 18 months, he had owned it for 11 years and was keeping it forever, with just the suspension needing doing and a bit of paint to make it minty fresh.
It has 130k miles, so thought that about right, didn't consider it is steal.
I was offered £17k for it the other day and he said he would get the paint done.
Not selling it, but these are only going one way and like he said, he has arranged to look at loads over the last few months and they are selling quicker than he can see them, and prices are climbing, quickly.

I think it's relevant. You can't really draw conclusions on the market from one vendor (even if he does seem to have sold every 996 in existence at least once). If anything I would say FGP seem to be a bit of a special case and achieve prices that few can match (I note the £40k C4S is reserved). Even now you can scout about Ebay, auto trader etc and find cars that sell for less than £12k and support the theory in the opposite direction. I admit, they are probably turds. Here is a 1998 cable throttle C2 with 85K miles on the clock for £12,996.. On that note. My intermittent frunk opening has transitioned to no longer opening at all. Anyone had this on the cars with the electric "popper"? Is it usually the microswitch or the latch itself? I can hear the microswitch react but it sounds lazy.
Can't help with the electronic frunk release as I've got a cable one.
Does anyone know how to make the indicators louder? I swear this car (or at least my one!) has the quietest indicators of any car ever, and I constantly forget to turn them off when making progress. Doesn't help it's a fairly noisy cabin in the 911 and the tell-tales on the dash aren't that bright either.
Would fitting a new indicator relay make things a bit better? Can you get louder ones?!
Just swapped my Beru spark plugs for NGK, engine running smoother than ever. It's a lovely motor.
