what is an 'early' 3.4 996?

Thanks guys. Lots to think about.
I definitely need to sort the ride height on mine but all the springs I've seen are -35mm max whereas I'd prefer -50 to -55mm really but only for the aesthetic as I'm a bit of a tart. If I had the cash I'd probably go with coilovers.
You’ll need an updated set of front top mounts and possible further suspension component changes to run such a low ride height as well as possible substantial negative camber - this could make the ride very unruly and lead to it acting like it wants to tramline in all directions on uneven road surfaces. If you’ve a C2, there are more options on the suspension changes than a C4. There was a suspension feature in 911 and Porsche magazine in December 2019 (I’ll see if I have a copy) where they tested various replacement options with the help of Chris & Pete from Center Gravity which you might find sensible. They also had cars with different wheel sizes and tyre combinations.I definitely need to sort the ride height on mine but all the springs I've seen are -35mm max whereas I'd prefer -50 to -55mm really but only for the aesthetic as I'm a bit of a tart. I figured there would be good reason why it wasn't common to see 996 run so low.
The GT3 for example has a lowered subframe compared to the standard car which is one of the reasons it can run so low without screwing up the suspension geometry. Does the GT3 have different front hubs too?
There is an X74 suspension option which is lower and stiffer than the M030 option, it's generally agreed to be pretty unpleasant on the road and that drops the car by 40mm front 30mm rear I think?
That kind of suggests that this is about the limit to retain acceptable geometry with the standard parts, I think the X74 has specific top mounts too? I've got (new) M030 and it's great on road and track IMO, much stiffer would be too much on the road.

Come and see mine. Its very low and rock hard. Here it is wearing 18 inch when I first bought it.I definitely need to sort the ride height on mine but all the springs I've seen are -35mm max whereas I'd prefer -50 to -55mm really but only for the aesthetic as I'm a bit of a tart. To give you an idea there was about 75mm arch to 18 inch rim front and rear.

Anything much below a 30mm drop and you won’t be able to get a sensible alignment without non standard suspension parts.
For aesthetics, you could run a different tyre size/profile - to further close the arch/tyre gap.
Yes I have some negative camber going on. My chosen Porsche specialist refused to adjust the tracking after a quick inspection because they said it was too low. Then I took it to Aline in Dudley and they sorted it no problem. For aesthetics, you could run a different tyre size/profile - to further close the arch/tyre gap.
