My mirror cover is floppy (assuming it's the spring), so when the visor is down it swings around. I think it can stay swinging around looking at the price of that...Hoofy said:
Looks like they only do leather ones.
I'd just make do with this:

I might have to see if I can swap the mechanism across, assuming it not the springs in the clip bit on the left that's failed?I'd just make do with this:

Does anyone have a cure for drooping centre vents for an early 996? It's pre-cup holder types. I set them where I want them but they'll always be pointing at the floor a few minutes later. I'm thinking of putting some electricians tape on the top surface while they're fully down to try and tighten them up a bit buts it's a bit bodgy.
Had the same issue with mine. When I had the dash apart to fit a Bluetooth add on for the Becker I was able to remove the vents. Ended up using some foam strips above and below the vent, through the back of the unit, to give the mechanism enough friction to stay put. Slight bodge, but invisible, and has fixed the issue over the last 2 years I’ve been using the car.Fast Bug said:

Before I fell off chair I noticed that is a leather clad item. The vanilla visor is not leather clad. Surely thats not Elon Musk money?
Significantly cheaper on rosepassion.com although apparently very colour dependent. Black is over 300EUR a side, but if you can live with space grey it's 139EUR. Go figure.Fast Bug said:

I took mine apart as I have the same problem.Unfortunately the vanity mirror cover is simply held up with the visor down by friction. It’s a metal C that’s pushed into the visor housing that grips the mirror cover and the point at which it fixes to the visor breaks as it’s only plastic. Hopefully that makes sense?
ETA.
I was thinking of some sticky back magnetic strip or Velcro.

If you're at a loose end at 9pm tonight you may find this of interest?

I thought the same when I saw the price, but mines 90's slip on shoe grey so the price isn't too bad for me. I've finally found a plus point of the interior colour Unfortunately the vanity mirror cover is simply held up with the visor down by friction. This is a problem for me. I just could not live with it I've considered doing that in mine to lift the interior. I just need to stop chucking money at the house we bought first, it'll be lovely when it's done. I could do without st breaking whilst we're doing it up. I think I've had a tradesman of one description or another here every week since we moved in

This is a problem for me. I just could not live with it I have spent today taking the seats out for a good clean, and also to clean under them. Quietly impressed how well the carpet is holding out, and the general state of what floor I can see. I've found nice dry ECU's, 2 old pound coins, and a mystery 2 pin plug.
Does anyone have any idea what it is for? Photo below, right hand side of passenger floor looking forward, tucked under the ECU cabling, its a bit dark but you should be able to see it. Any ideas from the collective wisdom?

I really like your interior, ATM. Is that steering wheel a 17?
I think it's called a Momo Model 07https://momo-uk.co.uk/MOMO-racing-rally-MOD.07-ste...
