I'm normally very polite about other people's cars as taste is individual but I can easily see Why those are at the cheaper end of the budget

If you could buy it without the wheels for 10 and spend 4 grand converting to manual you would have an early 996 on 55000 miles in black for reasonable money and it will have a new clutch and shifter cables too. There could a be a gem there but maybe my glasses are too Rosey. I think any less and a breaker would strip it. If that car was not listed cat d and manual then FGP would be charging 30k. I'm talking myself into buying it.

At least with a Tip you know the gearbox will be healthier as it won't have experienced any over-excited manual gear changes with unsympathetic grinding of gears.

And the engine is normally healthier on average car compared to its manual equivalent because the auto prevents it from shocks and over revs. Read a lot about tips setting off in 2nd leading to more bore score risk but not sure if that's the bigger engines.

Having had both tip & manual, all I can say is the manual feels a lot faster, but I do think that is feel & on paper there’s nothing in it

Apparently converting to manual is not an easy job, requires ECUs being swapped out etc.

Shame as otherwise it would be a nice way into a cheap 996 for a keen DIYer. Sure the auto suits some but most enthusiasts looking for a 996 want to choose their own gears.

I keep coming back to this one...

C4 - I know I know
Manual - refurbed box - allegedly
Hartec / Hartech rebuilt engine - allegedly
Cobalt Blue - I love Cobalt - how could you not?
Cab with upgraded glass roof and hardtop - does the new blue soft top match the colour of the original parts behind the rear seat?
Zenons
Barry rear lamps
Cup Holders - interesting
Are they half leather front seats from a Boxster?
Not sure its an early car as it has PSM and therefore not cable throttle right?

you can't get a C4 with a cable throttle. C2 only.
