Hi, I'm getting a 991.2 gts delivered in June , but have 2 young boys who I'll be squeezing into the back seats.

They're too young to understand not to kick the back of the seat so I'll want to protect the back of the seats. Given there's no headrests the usual Halfords seat back protectors will look a mess/won't fit.

I've got a quite to get them wrapped in a Paint Protection Film but it's pretty expensive, anyone got any suggestions??

I just live with it and clean the plastic seat backs of mine periodically. I've heard of people removing kids shoes off to stop damage.

My 7 yo auto removes her shoes if we are in the pork as she's had to do that since birth!

Shoes will scratch so a clean after the event doesn't cut it.

Low tac film

Won't be perfect.....but will look better than Halfords covers and can be replaced regularly as required.

My 2 boys go in the back, the seat backs get a bit dirty...it'll clean off, and unlikely to permanently damage the seats...anyway, to me, life's too short to worry about it...

But to answer your question - I could suggest that a more cost effective solution for you might be to just apply paint protection film over the areas where their feet will be in contact with the seat backs, and maybe use a matt finish film so it isn't so visible. I bet you could even buy it from Amazon, and apply it yourself..?

Not a bad shout, might just have a crack myself and looks to be readily available online. I'm 6ft 2 so will be a squeeze to get in the back to do it, will have have to get the wife to do it instead, even better!

That's a good attitude if you can afford it. I choose to worry about it as I would worry about it at resale time. Personally I wouldn't look twice at a car with a sruffy interior as I would assume the owner also thought life was too short to service the car properly, not thrash it from cold, not scrape it along kerbs etc.

Which is exactly what I used to do with my boys shoes in the 997 GTS, mainly as it had perfect white painted seat backs and I wanted to keep them that way.......

Which all worked great right up until the point that we went out for a family meal, wife, kids etc and during the drive home my youngest (6) asked the eldest (8) "where are your new boots George?".....After a quick scan around the car no boots to be found so it was time to turn around and head back to the restaurant to retrieve George's new boots. 45 miles later there were his boots on the grass bank next to where we had parked the car! And it was all my fault for having such a silly & impractical car....

LOL - Problem solved. Sold the 997 GTS and replaced with a GT4 so now they get to enjoy it from the front seat but only one at a time!
