In case it could interest some, it looks like there's a new event for motorbikes at Goodwood called BikeFest South. I think it's great to see a new biking event like this (including the Young Biker and intro to motorcycling, which are good for future motorcycling).

Here's the blurb:
  • BikeFest South is the first dedicated Motorcycling event for road riders of all kinds in the South of England for 50 years. We've chosen to organise it at Goodwood, and it will be on the 11th June 2017.
  • Rather than yet another polished bikes and BikeSafe show, we're offering visitors the chance to try bikes from (hopefully) both big and specialist manufacturers using the great roads around the Goodwood area.
  • We already have BMW, Yamaha and Husqvarna, and we're working with the Goodwood team to put on a mix of on and off-road demo routes.
  • We're partnering with the IAM who are putting on a range of short course on crash avoidance, machine handling and allow speed skills using the track, and running a gymkhana for people to see if they ride as well as they think they do!
  • We are also supporting several charities, including SERV, BikerDown, Armed Forces Bikers H4H and the Air Ambulance.
  • It's aimed at road riders, although it looks like we will be having a fair few racers dropping in courtesy of Goodwood's contacts, and as you would expect from an event at Goodwood it's going to be a really high quality day out.
  • We're also running the first 'Young Biker Of the Year' competition for people between 16 and 30, which the IAM guys will manage, plus an intro to motorcycling event for people who've always wanted to, but never actually got on board.

Sounds like a great idea!

Shame it clashes with the IOM TT frown

As the above poster mentions, I'd love to go but at the IoM.

Sounds good but seems rather silly planning a bike event that clashes with the biggest bike event of the year! Shame, I'd have gone otherwise

Yeah, shame about the clash. I guess some people could prefer to go to the show and then watch the TT highlights in the evening. If it's a nice sunny day, I'd rather be at the show, rather than watching tellie.

Or maybe they'll have a screen at the show to watch the TT.

Think I'll pop along to this, it's only an hour down the road and chance to have a go on some bikes

Bump for this - on tomorrow and weather looks reasonable.

I'm going to be riding over from Southampton/Winchester area about 8ish if anyone fancies a small ride out.

Toying with the idea of going tomorrow. Anybody else heading down from the Crawley area?
