Any recommendations for a cheap tablet?

Have an ipad 2 currently which is getting a bit creaky after 6 years.
It is only used for internet browsing on the sofa and very occasionally watching TV via iPlayer, 4OD and the like.
Given the limited amount of use, don't really want to spend £400+ on a new ipad. Was hoping to find something under £150 but there is so much out there I don't know where to start sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Android is fine, have discounted the various Kindles as I believe it is hard to load the Play store onto them? An 8" screen or larger would be good too.
Any thoughts?

Had a Lenovo Yoga Tab 8 for a few years. Broke it trying to extract 3G sim. Bought Yoga Tab 3 10.
Very long battery life, but a bit heavy. Android bloat-free. Can be Windows-ised with Windows Apps in Android Play Store. It's had two security upgrades, one a month ago. Great 'kick-stand' and stereo speakers. The Infiland case for it has a 'sleep-magnet'. (Amazon.) No issues with memory, add 32GB card. £149 at the moment. Good media/browsing/email weapon.
Android 6.01, security last upgrade 1 March, 2017, 2GB ram. Can be de-Googled data-slurping with free Netguard firewall.
We do a lot of field data collection on tablets, now use three of these with no issues. All day battery life is excellent.

I also had a Linx 10, nice machine with the magnetic keyboard but heavier than the Yoga 3 10.
