Fair enough, but the reality - I suspect - is that people use the gearing available via PCP to buy something that costs considerably more than they could afford as outright purchase.. Hence they end up financing a depreciating asset and have no cash to invest in something that gives a decent yield. Double whammy experienced by many living beyond their means. And not being holier than thou, just relaying what I see around me.

COI: own three of my cars outright, one on PCP ( the only part of which I cherish is the underwritten value if - or when - the arse falls out of the market for uber estates).

i doubt Top 555 would have three on their website if they thought they'd be stuck with them.
I might be mistaken but I think at least 2 of the 3 have just had price drops.

I looked into getting into one of these last year. And as I was planning on driving the thing wanted to make sure I wasn't entering when it was a falling knife if that was happening. I concluded to hold off 12m and they have shed a bit since then. I got a 458 in the meantime but the RS itch is burning.

Can't work out of the knife has fallen.
I think you're right.

If there's a 991.2 GT3 RS coming I think these will fall back a fair way....I have absolutely no idea if one is coming or not though! I'd want to know the answer to that if I was worried what an RS is going to be worth in 18 months.

Funny world ..... loved and driven RS/ GT porsches as well as raced GT Porsches for 25 years .......... yes cannot buy them anymore but to pay premiums for them... I do not think so . Guess I have to work for my money but happy that others do as keeps Porsche making these nice cars ...

Yes is the answer. This is it.

How do you feel prices will go over next couple years, confused I've got my eye on the GT silver one at Porsche Leicester. is now a good time?
Wait for December, for 991.2 gt3 deliveries and the announcement of the touring pack. Or next year during 991 GT2 RS + gt3 deliveries + gt3 manual deliveries and with luck the announcement of the 991.2 GT3 RS.

Prices will go down, I see them bottom out next year around 140-150, if you are interested, offer 180-190 for it, see if it sticks. RS stock will go up even more than it is now.

Whether they get to £140k to £150k I doubt but if the 991.2 GT3 RS is coming next year as it seems to be now is not the right time if you're worried about what it's going to be worth with cars at something like a guesstimate 30% premium to where the new car will be.

If Porsche adjust new car pricing in the UK to be in line with Germany, then a Gen 1 might not lose too much as the new model will be much more expensive. New price for the RS was c 180k Euros from memory, so the Gen 2 will probably be around 190k base price, say 210k specced

Edit: that is a big "IF" as they have not done anything approaching this so far

Do you really think RS prices will go down to £140-150k next year - or is this wishful thinking laugh

So from current prices (for anything with a proper read "liquid" spec) of £200-235k, they're going to lose 30-40% in a year!

Have a look at 997.2 GT3 RS prices - saw nothing like this and they prop up the later model....

Highly unlikely they'll do that...would make a mockery of pricing of things like the new Turbo S Exclusive...and indeed make it look crazy money to the 991.2 GT3.

That's quite a drop! Scary.

Anyone on here know if there is anything wrong/missing spec on the £199k Lava RS that's up for sale in the OPC network. I thought that would have been snapped up the instant it came on.

That's a big % drop!

But to be fair 997.2 prices dropped to £80k for a decent spec car, £85k for top spec (all from OPCs) in 2012 before rising. That's well below list and the 991.1 is still above list....

One's disappeared...they haven't Tweeted about selling it and it's not on the "Previously Sold" page of their website so I am guessing it was SOR and the owner has taken it back.

High mileage relatively for an RS.

The partial Lava coloured interior not to everyones taste.

I've not viewed it, but I suspect it might just be down to mileage. It's the only one I've seen with over 10k on it. It was previously up for £210k so has been reduced.

Another possibility (perhaps indicated by the harnesses being fitted) is that it's done a lot of track miles so might not be as good a condition as others. Again, just speculation. Sorry I can't provide more helpful answers!

Yeh and F40's were 200 grand too!! Market has moved somewhat since then - to suggest it'll retrace to that in a year is pure wishful thinking on the part of a number of people on this thread.....

If it does, put me down for an F40 biggrin

If it's the one at Mayfair then I saw it on Saturday and it looked stunning on the outside with no stonechips visible.

The interior wasn't to my taste but looked in very good condition as well.

I've walked past it a few times - its been in there at least two to three weeks in the prime corner spot. Looks great with the decals.

Unless they've had a couple of them they've had it for a couple of months. Was elsewhere in the showroom before.

The corner Mayfair one was up for £210k less than two weeks back

I can absolutely confirm this. I was offered at the OPC that ended up ordering me a 991 GT3 a 997.2 RS in white with cage et all, lift and second set of wheels at 90k before bargaining. I had a 991.1 S at the time which was plagued with issues, I took it out for a test drive and rather idiotically passed as the clutch was a bit too heavy for my taste and worried the girlfriend would resent the spartan experience.

Opted to wait for the 991.1 GT3 instead which I adored but probably threw down the toilet a good 30k and the chance to own an RS.
