Only 25 for UK? Sounds wrong given all dealers getting at least 1-3?

I think the rims on the 991 cars are too big, looks a bit weird to me - is there a performance reason for using 20/21 inch rims or would a 19 inch rim of the same width work just as well (would also ensure the brake discs don’t look lost at the rear)?

PEC have a GT2RS in RHD.
WP car in GT silver with weissgold magnesium wheels.
Red interior.

Few interesting points as of yesterday.

Nobody there had driven it, only driven for a television feature.
It's not road legal and will crushed when it's done with.
PEC are not allowed to buy one.
Only 25 coming to the UK.
And something for Mr.991r, it was running Dunlops.
well if they are going to crush it it's best not to put good tyres on it ;-p

I'm just repeating what the chaps and chapesses at PEC said yesterday. Then one OPC will say a different figure and another OPC will say a different figure again. It does seem remarkable that the range seems to be between 25 cars and, what, 80-90?

Looks and spec-wise, I thought GT silver paint, weissgold wheels, carbon everywhere AND red interior looked just a bit much. Just too many colours going on. But it did look absolutely brutal.

My OPC is getting four.

The R they have at the PEC is the same it’s a pre reg car and will be crushed. Something to do with it being a tax write off as part of development costs.

For reference, my dealer got 3 allocations. To compare, they got 1 R and 7 GT3RS.1

Porsche have released the dates for April/May and June now btw should anyone be looking to book.

I was with a DP of an OPC yesterday who said they were getting 9 cars and he knew of another OPC with the same allocation.Whilst without doubt very rare they will not be built in the tiny numbers of the 997 GT2RS.

These cars will be relatively scarce in the grand scheme of things.. as a result of 'natural selection'... basically, how many people are really in a position to, and, have the desire to drop minimum 200K on a 911... they have started to raise the prices on these cars now and at least some increased vetting to try to get away from the potential flippers who can get in 'cheap' and then look to profit..... if they raise the prices and vet potential buyers more closely they can get out of the loop and also make more money for the company.
Obviously some flipper may get through the gaps in the process at the expense of a genuine enthusiast - not a perfect process or world... but the intent will be that the cars go to the right people - from a Porsche PoV.

I think most of your "genuine enthusiast" are genuinely enthusiastic because they can have free motoring and even make a profit, when the Porsche bubble bursts the real genuine enthusiasts will emerge and they will be the ones who can afford the car and are not worried about normal depreciation because they actually really want to drive the car. Porsche are doing their best and looking after their most spendy customers which is probably the best current course of action.

I have one coming in one week, will collect 01 March. Gt Silver WP.

I believe my dealer (a large one) is getting 4.

Actual UK production numbers would be very helpful.

Congrats!

Mine also GT silver WP but production date still bouncing around as I've got some Cxx interior options. Probably March but could even be April build right now!

Hi there H, great to hear from you! Well done on the 2RS, was very tempted by red and it will look fantastic.

Did they give any reason for the delay?

There's a problem withTitanium cages on WP cars. (Supplier difficulty, not technically).
There is apparently going to be a reasonable delay for a lot of cars not yet built, but not sure how long.
Several people (not just in UK) have had this confirmed in the last few days.
