Looking forward to the arrival of a black one in April, I have heard the car is a lot more than a 2wd Turbo S.
You have a few miles on yours now I believe, how’s the traction in this cold weather?
Like all cars with Cups, below 10d just have to take it careful, with braking and under power. You have a few miles on yours now I believe, how’s the traction in this cold weather?
I have had a lot of Turbo 911s over the years, including 930s, 996s with X50s, 996GT2, 997GT2RS, and few 991 Turbos. To be honest I was not sure what to expect with the 991GT2RS. Maybe something along the lines of a 991RS but more power.
To say I am impressed with the 991GT2RS, would be an understatement. Its quite simply the best driving car I have ever owned. The amount of feel and feed back that the car gives is quite a step up on even the 991RS. The PDK has all the drive line chatter from the 91RS. The throttle response feels very close to that of a NA engine. Zero Lag. It just races for the horizon in every gear like no other road car I have driven. The best bit is the sound. This sounds very close to an high Rev NA engine when under load. Down shifts have lots of pops and bangs.
Very lucky to those that are getting one. Its a very special car.

Good to hear, especially the noise element. Regardless of the (amazing) power delivery and handling, it's really important to hear something that indicates the beast inside. Piccies gratefully received...

Sorry I was just keen to hear a little more or your experiences. Appreciate your posts no offence intended. Cheers
Ah, OK. I hope to track it soon. One point I did not mention. Is just how firm the spring rates feel. Don't get me wrong the PASM does it job on the road with regard to compliance. But this car rides completely flat even when pushing on with road use. Much more so than what the 91RS did. But its party trick apart from the sound, is the way in which it just screams for the Horizon in every gear. Even more so than a 918 in this area.
Centre locks just have RS on them....

Thanks for that, I am looking forward to experiencing the car, can't believe it feels like it pulls harder than a 918!
The 918 has a lot of Torque, and I agree pulls very hard. But I have tested this point on roads I know well. Also the Figs are very close. See my best 918 times below all from a V-Box. Don't forget that the Figs quoted for Turbo 991s are a little conservative.hunter 66 said:
Just specced ... Gold wheels , did not really want another Black car but it just looked right ....Love the GT2 RS ....
I like that a lot..And i also like the fact you haven't followed the herd and added a gazillion quid of options to make it easier for resale..Just goes to show the GT3 RS is pretty perfect out straight of the box if you put driving pleasure above glitz. Hunter 66 epitomizes the type of person i would give preference, to secure a GT allocation if i ran Porsche UK.
Down with flippers...!
