LIPO Batteries for Windless / bow thruster
Discussion
We are trying to reduce weight in our bow as the boat is dry stacked and on the limit for the fork lift.
the bow thruster / windless battery is in need of replacement and is currently a 55AH Optima battery which is approx. 17 KG. looking recently at various suppliers of LIPO replacement batteries they maybe an option as a replacement, the above is about 200 quid, similar capacity LIPO is about 3rd the weight but less than double the price.
These sorts of LIPO's appear to be drop in replacements and contain circuitry etc. so no - need to change charger etc.
I need to confirm the spec of the below (we bought s/h)
Windless I think is 1000w
Slipner bow thruster - 7.5 ton 43ft boat.
Am I up a gum tree or is this a worth while change?
