I've organised a bacon butty run near Portsmouth for Sunday the 5th of November if anyone wants to come along

Ok so one part that bugs me about my 996 is the rear wiper, so I have bought a rear wiper delete kit online with a colour coded bung in arctic silver, will look great I am sure once fitted. Only issue is it didn't come with any instructions.

Anyone done this before? Or can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction, had a good search online but nothing 996 specific unfortunately.

Kit - is that needed?

Surely you just remove it and bung up the hole?

Alas no, the kit comprises of an 8mm screw, gasket, aluminium plate, rubber grommet, colour coded cap and a load of nuts

And apparently is a pig of a job, hence I have stopped thinking about doing mine!

Please update us once you've done yours.

the steering...

the rawness of it..

Have any fellow 996 owners had their steed ceramic coated? Been offered a good deal from my local detailer and thinking worth a go. You generally only hear of newer cars having this done, but surely can only be a good thing?
Mine is booked in next month. There's a bit of a wait at the detailer's, but I'm hoping that's a good thing and that he can do great work on the original 2003 paint.
Managed to snag a cancelled spot and get it done early. Came out very nice and as well as can be expected for 15 year old paint.

That has come out lovely, I got mine done a couple of weeks ago inside and out. The only slight issue with arctic silver is never has that glossy finish that you get on other cars in my experience. What products did your guy say you should use on your car going forward?

My detailer said use gtechniq products and some meguiers products and essentially to be really careful and keep away from hand car washes as the products they are use are too acidic and will eat into the coating

One thing this thread hasn't had yet, is enough green in it. So I present a whole lot of greenery. I have to replace the mats but have always bought black just to break up the colour a little bit. When I got the car, they were green too!

That is a lovely looking green C4. Makes my Arctic Silver look dull.

Thanks. He basically said mild soapy water should be sufficient for 6 months.

Funny how the colours that were the death for resale when they were a few years old are so sought after today laugh

Love this, way better to sit in than dull black. I would love a red interior, mine is light grey.

Also really like the green on the outside, I always wanted an oak green mk2 golf, this reminds me of those.

Love the green! I'm a fan of dark blue, dark green and darker shades of red. I like a bit of colour in the interior, although 90's/00's Porsche perhaps add a little too much. I wouldn't mind that at all though.
