My race team are doing the build.

They run my 996 RSR and 991 Cup in 24 hour race and have a full engine shop. You trust people that change brakes at 3am in Dubai as you go out wanting them to work at T1.....

I looked at some of the road based guys but they charge too many hours for simple jobs. I am sure they are great but different mentality from servicing cars to building cars.

My guys had the engine and gearbox out in 2 hours.

They have 2 more people wanting them now but base cars are becomming the biggest problem to source.

My base car was on 07 on 90k miles. No scoring and shells were good, getting liners so didnt really matter. Engine is a mess cosmetically as oil pump was leaking but made full hp on engine dyno.

Porsche Motorsport helped us engine, on what to and what not to do. Engine should be done in 3 weeks.

RSS suspesion, LWFW, Diff and shocks turned up today. So going to paint in next 2 weeks...

No ducktail and no centre exhaust. Clean look set up for fast road use. Good torque, weight saving and good passive dampers.

Brakes. Refurb Calipers, giro discs, PF pads new braided lines, Motorsport Master cylineder with bias adjust.

Using standard PSE exhaust with valves welded open, cleaned up and painted with high temp paint as this gives best result with the intake mods we are doing that are all standard Porsche parts.

Interior will be Dave the Trimmer. Seats are bespoke Corbeau as I know the owner.

In car New centre console with Pioneer Apple Car play. Factory fits to PCM space.

Wheels Techart Formula 2 deep dish.

Colour wait and see.

Sounds fantastic ! Can’t wait to see it being built. I’ve been told DTT is very good so will be interested to see your interior !

That sounds like what I'd like to do only with more budget. With more 997.1's hitting the market with the engines rebuilt already, I am hoping it might deflate the prices or harder used ones that haven't so I can hoover one up for the base of a project.

You should start a thread!

New to me 997.2 Carerra S manual. Very happy boy!
Snap! I've had mine over 4 years. Only complaint is I rarely get time to drive it.

Has anyone fitted any mesh or similar to the front bumper on a 997 to protect the condensers?

I'm having my condensers done at the moment and keen to get this done too. Mine is a 997.1 c2 so I don't want anything that's going to look out of place..

Zunsport do them. I was offered some cheap by my indie, they ordered them in for someone who then changed their mind. I’m not sure I like the look. yuck

I agree. I'd prefer not to have them but the condensers are very vulnerable where they are and cost a fair chunk to have done. I had cracks both sides on mine which I was told was down to stones

There’s the option of silver but I was toying with the idea of getting them powder coated gold
