Rather than re-gassing, new condensers, pipes etc. could you just have your AC removed from the car.(delete rolleyes) I’ve never used AC once in any car I’ve ever owned! frown

My beloved 997.2 Turbo following an eight-week DIY paint correction, including wheels off and ceramic coating. The poor thing hasn’t been driven much due to lockdowns and shoddy weather. I’m just waiting for spring to arrive properly before unwrapping it and blowing off the cobwebs.
Looks ace.

laugh I just had to do a motorway awareness Zoom course last week. I hadn’t seen any signs, but apparently I was doing 61 in a 50. When I looked at the photographic evidence, the car I was driving was actually on a slip road going onto a smart motorway. frown

Got to look out for those 'variable speed limit' signs!

Interesting, two key options for me are indeed cruise and aircon! I appreciate that, if one lives in the Lake District, aircon might be largely redundant. But for me one of the charms of the 911 is the ability to wear many hats. That includes "Continental cruiser", for which a/c is a must. But even beside that, on a damp autumn day in Windermere its really useful to quickly demist windows.

MariosBt, you should really run the a/c from time to time, use it or lose it as they say! If nothing else to avoid a world of pain from it packing up.

On another topic, took out my 997 from winter & lockdown storage and will be taking it for its yearly service next weekend. Had forgotten what a great car it is to drive! driving

Cheers for the info. I wasn’t aware the AC could go kaput if not used. frown

The seals dry out and gas leaks out. Seals very expensive to fix. Using AC lubricates the seals.

This. I've read that a minimum of letting the A/C run for 10 minutes every month is advised.

I couldn't have a car without A/C (bar the classic) and find it extremely helpful during all four seasons to defog the windows.

Cruise is nice from time to time, but I could easily live without it.

Front Cup splitter fitted - about 1/2 the price of the road version. PN: 997 505 983 91
Sits about 10mm lower so worth noting.

I’ve just taken the Carrera badge off the back off my car, mainly because it was coming unstuck anyway & a bit worn. Is there an easy way to get he residue off or just washing up liquid and elbow grease ? ... maybe T Cut.

You can buy glue removal products, but I just used WD40 and a soft cloth. Took a while, but did the job.
