There are a few options I looked at:OEM Sport Classic wheels are available. Pricey obviously. I believe only available in wide body fitment.
You can get genuine Fuchs in 19 but they are different to the sport classics in pic above. Slightly wider “petal”
Design 911 have Chinese copies of Sport Classics and are “low” cost. These will be cast rather than forged, so quality is probably not as good as an OEM wheel.
I went for some forged copies of the 50th anniversary wheel scaled to 19inch. I think they are a mod to Fuchs but suit the modern cars better. I have a black car and wanted silver centres.

I believe the Fuchs copies I recently bought from Design 911 are from Italy. I also have read somewhere that the original 997 Sport Classic wheels were made in Italy. Can anyone confirm please ?OEM Sport Classic wheels are available. Pricey obviously. I believe only available in wide body fitment.

I did have some Chinese copies on my 997.2 Carrera 2 (i.e. not a wide body) which fitted OK.

My car is also black. Do you have any photos of your wheels Sco.?
They are in transit so haven't fitted them yet!
The company I got them from are in Canada and do a lot of re-sized classic Porsche wheels and they are forged so at least as good as OEM. Quite cool I think.

Big box in the hall today, I think the missus thought I’d bought a new dishwasher
Two new 997.1 Topgear back boxes. Will post when fitted. Not even opened box yet.. going
straight to Indy.
Great! Looking forward to hearing your experience and feedback on aspects such as noise, ease of installation and quality of the components. Two new 997.1 Topgear back boxes. Will post when fitted. Not even opened box yet.. going

A well known indy quoted the following for seized/sheered manifold studs...
"To make you aware seized manifold studs are £100+vat/parts each for extraction. Obviously we do everything that we can to remove cleanly."
I went elsewhere in the end, and as it happens they all came out without issue (2007 GT3). On the face of it, it's an easy job but the thought of being stranded with no manifolds on the car and sheered bolts tempered my DIY enthusiasm somewhat.
Design 911 do a manifold stud repair kit. I've not tried it, but it at least seems to offer some hope of salvation when you snap that last stud off whilst lying on your back on the garage floor!"To make you aware seized manifold studs are £100+vat/parts each for extraction. I'm not sure even such desperation would enable me to take a drill to my engine block, no matter the quality of the jigs/guides I had. I reckon in that scenario, I'd be hiring a car trailer instead. Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
