I want to get some alcantara on the dash & door cars next, unless I decide to move it on and get a GT3 RS. That's the only thing that would prize me out of the Carrera.

Has anybody heard of PMR Independent Porsche Specialist?

6 liners for 1800 and a Wossner piston kit for 900 something quid. Add in the 2200 labour charge and some other bits and pieces and you have a relatively cheap rebuild. The shiny engine looks good in the pics.

Ok the final bill is 11500 but that includes quite a few other extras. Its not a small bill but the question is do these cheaper rebuilds stand up?

One of my friends is thinking about a 997 and he had asked me to do some digging so please any thoughts on this?

I agree. Bright red calipers are a bit cheesy. The 996 gen 1 had black or silver depending on C2 or C4. Shortly after Porsche decided to start using red on all S models.

Anyone use the Hartech ‘Maintenance Plan’?

If so, how would the cost of an engine rebuild work in with it.. should you eventually need one ? frown

The maintenance plan only covers labour I believe or is it parts - cant remember. Check their small prints. The point is it only covers a part of the fee. Also last time I saw this mentiined they were taking on no new clients as already way too busy.

Major service and Eibach springs fitted last week. With it being a non PASM car the ride always looked too high for me. I think it’s just about spot on now but perhaps needs some 5mm or 7mm spacers all round.

I have the Milltek centre silencer bypass ready to go on, hopefully in the next month or so I’ll get round to fitting it.

That looks way better, NON PASM cars can appear a bit 'pram-like' in their stance, very colour dependent I think.

That looks fab, just the sort of mods I would have done to my 997.2 C2 if I had kept it. The one mod I did do was to get a GT3 short shift kit fitted but that wasn't as transformational as I had hoped.
