That looks way better, NON PASM cars can appear a bit 'pram-like' in their stance, very colour dependent I think.

Thanks, it definitely does look better. “Pram-like” I’d agree with. It didn’t look how a 911 should IMO.

That looks fab, just the sort of mods I would have done to my 997.2 C2 if I had kept it. The one mod I did do was to get a GT3 short shift kit fitted but that wasn't as transformational as I had hoped.
Thank you smile This is a PDK so not much use for a short shifter.

Nice

I do have a little pet hate for 4wd but I've never even driven one so no basis for that hatred

That was Kent to Salford. Motorway all the way pretty much. Average speed a reflection of driving in the UK but posting as I'm pretty chuffed with that mpg from a 16 year old 3.8 litre car! Wasn't trying at all for maximum mpg, just "normal" motorway driving and so a wide spread of speed.

I'd say from the error code it's a lambda sensor.
Should default to a safe mapping to avoid damage - safe to drive sensibly to your favourite repair shop.

Sorry to hear about your woes Mario, seems like you've had a slight rough patch with the 997. I dread this happening on mine now that its definitely an old car.

Hope all sorted soon!

Just another niggly little problem I think! I have had new sports cats sat a home for about 7 months now.. so maybe this may be the time to get them fitted. My car is a 2007, so I expect stuff to go wrong. I’ve owned it for over 7 years now & most of the components you expect to have to replace on these cars, have been done. Apart from the ultimate repair whistle … the engine rebuild. Hopefully, that won’t happen. But if it happens it will be off to Hartech. Obviously, money you would rather not have to spend but it is, what it is. wink

Ha, I'm actively looking for a cheap one that needs a rebuild! Show me some of that 4.1 action baby!

I think that is a great way to have a fantastic 997. I have been looking myself for a ‘project car’. Should you be able to buy one for £10 - £15K then take it to Hartech, you will have a good 911 for the right money. It goes without saying you will also have coolant pipes, brake lines etc. to attend to… but will end up with a great car with a ‘better than factory’ engine.

I recently bid on this. It is still on there.

3.6 so you'd only be able to get to 3.9 with Hartech, not 4.1 sadly. I've also been on the look out for one with a knackered engine for a project - missed out on one that went for about 13k and that's the cheapest I've seen. That Sterling Cars place is weird - they buy from BCA, don't reply to ebay messages and then their 911s all go for ridiculous money, even when they have engine lights on the dashboard and 10 litres of Mobil's finest, opened, in the frunk laugh

ETA: If you want a laugh, it's here - sold for £16.9k, then went back on as "Exclusively for trade" without the engine warning light photo and the frunk with the oil in it and sold for £15.6k...mad!!

The car I currently have is 3.6 and I’m happy with the performance. If I do eventually need a rebuild I’m pretty sure I would be happy keeping it 3.6 … I suppose it is something you would discus with Hartech .. & possibly your insurers wink

Yes, was just in response to Yidwann who mentioned 4.1. I'd definitely be taking a trip to Hartech to have a drive in some of the options before taking the plunge.

My plan for anyone who is interested, I can't even remember whether I have posted it here before is to

Find a project 997.1 C2S, along as its straight don't care about it being leggy.

Donk out... up to Hartech rebuild and up to 4.1
Usual upgrades, GT3 Plenum, nice headers and exhaust (tbc, would like it fruity but not overly lairy I want this to be a covers all bases car)
Full respray, colour that's winning for me is Fjord Green (had this in my head for a while not, almost slightly annoyed its back on the PTS roster) CSR Carbon Ducktail
Full Suspension refresh, KW or Ohlins coilovers, this needs a bit more research about what is going to be best for a primarily fast road car, definitely want that well damped supple but controlled feel
Some BC Forged alloys
Bit of an interior retrim

My house has finally sold, so once the funds are in the bank and its all been allocated out, this project can begin.
