I’d be curious about the reason for a complete respray. Although it’s done a lot of miles, the paint holds up quite well on these cars apart from the front end?

Bodywork wise it is good due to having pretty much a full respray during covid by a friends insurance approved bodyshop, its been done properly too with both roof frame seals being replaced so no nasty masking lines in sight.
Maybe her Bodyshop friend was short of work and had time on his / her hands so did this for a good price. And yes after 100,000 miles and 17 years the paint could have needed a refresher. Work in these pics looks good to me. I see plenty of 996 cars which are only 2 or 5 years older getting full resprays. A decent job must be 3k plus these days.ATM said:

Are they really selling for that much now?
I'll say no but you never knowIf you see value in Hartech and full respray - which I do if it presents well - then you could argue it looks well priced

This is a lovely example. It is ALL the money at £45k for a nice spec .1.

Just an example of the market does not really know where to place these cars.

That is strong money, hard to know whether it will sell close to that, depends on the details of the rebuild.
But looks tidy, rare colour, X73 and X51 packs are rare beasts, its got more chance than the cars sat in the £30k+ bracket with no rebuild if you ask me. As ever, I am getting happier and happier with the price I paid for mine.

This is jaw droppingly gorgeous
Ok, I would have preferred cocoa interior, but the two tone is rather nice too… but this is the closest 997 to my dream spec I have ever seen. If I‘d be in the uk, I‘d probably buy it immediately!!
£45k for one of the nicest 911 ever? Bargain!
A great super-rare colour, powerkit, sports suspension and LSD, sports seats, along with an engine rebuild. It certainly has all the ingredients!Ok, I would have preferred cocoa interior, but the two tone is rather nice too… but this is the closest 997 to my dream spec I have ever seen. If it were a Hartech rebuild the car would be good value. One would need good detail on what the engine rebuild has involved and the lack of use would also be a slight concern in terms of what might crop up when the car goes back into regular use.

A short research on the https://www.porsche-torque.co.uk/ website suggest they regularly do rebuilds and that they work "with Serdi Engineering who machine and fit Westwood Ductile Iron liners to" the engines. Another what looks to be reputable outfit.
Without knowing any further details, it all sounds good!

As with any car. Regarding the engine rebuild: I know Hartech is the preferred engine builder around here. But others do great works as well.

Makes a change compared to the usual black and grey.
Top money though.
I sold mine 2 years ago for £21.5.
2004 with 60k miles and Hartech rebuild.
Times have changed.

Of course, you can write anything on the internet, but it all sounds good to me. They seem to be in business for some time and there are no immediate red flags like numerous 1* google ratings for exploding Porsche engines or the like.
Remember I said "what looks to be reputable outfit. Without knowing any further details, it all sounds good!"
ETA: Based on a quick internet research, I get good vibes from Porsche Torque and Serdi engineering.
Found some threads on PH, 911uk and PCGB mentioning Serdi. They seem to be reputable indeed.
Of course I would want to know some more details regarding the rebuild, what was involved etc. but it all sounds good to me. As said, this would be close to my unicorn 997 and if I'd be in the UK, I'd seriously consider it!

The owner/director/CEO of Westwood posts on this forum, and hillclimbs a Gen 1 987 Cayman that runs one of their big bore conversions. It’s a quick old thing.

Seems to be a difference of opinion between Hartech and Westwood as to which is the optimal solution to fix the M96/97 engines.
