Not really any defining results as far as performance is concerned. frown

I had this fitted to my car instead of the factory air box at the same time I had the LTT fitted. I was told it would be an improvement clap

I was talking to owner of this 997.1 4S yesterday. It was well optioned from factory and I noticed the centre console was black instead of the gen 1 grey. Was that a factory option as it really lifted the cabin vibe IMO.

You mean the whole PCM and AC area?

I've only ever seen this in grey. But surely Porsche would you relieve you of several thousands if you really want this customised. Surely a handy DIYer could tackle it with a rattle can and a load of masking tape.

You should of got a pic.

It was available to be covered in leather as a factory option. Porsche Exclusive would have been able to paint it. That is what I have done biggrin

You can read about it with lots of more pictures in my reader car thread here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
It has taken several hours to do, but it's without a doubt the best thing I have done to the 997!!

Some pictures of the process:

The products I used:

Here you can see the difference between the grey and the new black.

Photos do not do it justice. The cabin has become so much, much more modern!
I'm an absolute geek to keep everything looking OEM, but since this could have been specced by the factory (in leather albeit) and the 997.2 had the same areas in black with the same grey inserts across the dash, it works tremendously well!

Then you have a 997.2. They all came like this from the factory. Lucky you!

ETA, ah, I meant you where referring to the black PCM.

lovely car you have there!
I'm not really a fan of the Carrera IV wheel either.
Much prefer the look of the 18" Carrera III wheel from the 997.1. They are often available on ebay for a rather good price.

I've got kw clubsport on my early 996 and there is quite a bit of adjustment so you can have them rock hard or quite hard. Some people's hard is another person's quite hard so it's all quite subjective. Mine are probably due a refurb so it's hard to give them a fair review as mine were on the car when I bought it. It's the hardest setup I've driven on any car ever. They were rock hard when I got the car but I backed them off a bit.

So if the road ahead gets uneven they can get unsettled and you get bounced around. But the car has loads of feedback and I'm not sure if that's just the car or the firmer setup so I'm not sure I wanna change it if that makes sense. If the average b road you favour is fairly smooth then my car is super planted. It has way more grip than I have balls with virtually zero body roll.

OK, that must be it. I couldn't get in the car obviously to touch it but it just made it look great with the full leather interior.

It was originally a Dublin car ordered in 2007 at the height of the Celtic Tiger so every option ticked Imagine.
