The 997 Appreciation Thread

so tempted right now to get a 997 as a daily driver instead of a Panamera (sensible choice but dont need the extra seats)
I've seen a few below £20k now that have long term owners and seem straight cars..
Does the auto box kill the enjoyment of having a 997? I'll be doing 75 miles a day on the motorway.... I dont want to go down the road of two cars again, rather have one nice one that I use lots

If most of your mileage is on the motorway, you’re changing gear anyway. Get the manual, then you get to have fun once you get onto the proper roads.
^^what he said. Autoboxes shine in start stop traffic. And that is the only time I sometimes get bored of driving a manual, especially with so many people creeping along in traffic On the motorway, a manual is absolutely easy to handle. Go for it and go for a manual one!

Is it just me or have manual 997s become something to snap up all of a sudden?
I have to admit I own one and am not selling (just paid for another two year warranty).
There are loads of Tiptronics out there, but the manuals are advertised and then vanish almost immediately.
Seems that way for 997.2 manuals (of which there were seemingly less registered in the UK due to the GFC in 2008/9). A car I used to own was just sold by RPM having been on the website for a handful of days. The pictures were not even up on the website before it was reserved.I have to admit I own one and am not selling (just paid for another two year warranty).

£84K. That’s Eighty Four Thousand Pounds ... !!!
Probably my favourite CSR conversion to date, but £84K for 15 year old 2S with 122k miles on odometer is madness.
