From their website as of March 2024 (with disclaimer regarding fluctuating parts prices).
Is no one else wandering why b and c are different prices?

Nope!

Also suggest you remove the pic of the receipt as it has a lot of someones personal info on it and violates rule 6 of the forum.

Receipt? Isn't that a screenshot from the Hartech website?

I went and viewed that car. I could have driven it away for 16k ish. The guy selling it was an honest chap and transparent with it, good lad. He paid £22k for it only last August.

It was a lovely specced thing with crests, cruise, xenons, BOSE, PSE, PASM etc.

I walked away.

Mileage. 138k.

On its original suspension. It didn't look great underneath after 20 winters and 138k miles. To replace this properly, what would we be looking at £3-4k alone?

Mis matched tyres.

Non working air con.

PSE valve faulty.

It needed a major service.

PSM not working. (Could be head unit or amp)

Passenger door card was soaked.

Poor bodywork. (OS rear arch scraped, dent in front OS wing)

Alloys needed a refurb.

I didn't like the fact only 4 cylinders had been done.

With the mileage and repairs it would need with the potential bork risk it wasn't worth £16k to me. By the time i had it to the standard i wanted i would easily be into well north of £20k with it. It would still be far from perfect and still have 138k miles on it so massively limiting its value. Ongoing costs could be ruinous.

For not a massive amount more i will wait for one to come along with lower miles and well sorted.

It drove nicely, the springs had been done so it was low. But it felt and looked tired.

Looks like it sold for £15900 on eBay and if it is someone handy with the spanners or just wanting to thrash it about and not give a fk then it could be a great buy!

Good luck to the new owner, sadly it wasn't for me.

I just went for a short blast on the German Autobahn with my 997 biggrin

Nothing to do, only lunch time to kill and so I thought, why not go for a drive as long as there is still an unrestricted German Autobahn. My car turns 20 years old next month (does anyone know where I can get the date of birth other than the official birth certificate from the opc?) and is a vanilla 3.6 C2. How well it picks up speed, also above 100 mph, is incredible. Shifting through the gears and giving it full throttle in 2rd until the red line, repeat in 3rd and 4th hitting 125 mph in that gear is phenomenal. Yes, there are many cars faster but not many that are more fun to do so.

The bolded part is why I don’t hanker after an S, GTS or Turbo. The true potential of these cars is inaccessible on UK roads and therefore useless if one doesn’t track the car or take it to the continent. The gearing is too long, so I find myself taking it easy, cruising, listening to the exhaust note and getting my thrills by maxing out 2nd gear and upto 4k revs in 3rd gear by which time I’m already at the speed limit.

These cars are incredible above 4k revs. It’s just a shame that we in the UK can’t enjoy it like you can without risking our drivers licence biggrin

I'm thinking of viewing this 997 and would be keen to get your thoughts on the price.
It seems a nice spec. but not sure if price is a little high.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

I'd say the price is about right given that the dealer must have some mark up in there - i'm guessing it's on SOR.
If you are using dealer facilities (finance, trade in, warranty, etc.) then it's a fair price.
I'd expect the same car from a private individual to be barely any less cash, i'd say £45k as a private sale would be in the right ballpark for a sub 50k mile manual 997.2 Carrera S.

ok, strange one to me, see the writing on the picture, 1 of 49? what the blue color? and only 1 in that spec (yellow wheels and sort?)
and 997.2 but its a 997.1 or is it a 997.1,5 ?

it seems that a Sjeik was the first owner, but what is it, yes a 997 GT2 but is it a 997.1,5 maybe? its surely not a 997.2 looking at the rear. but it has leds in , though not the .2 lights hehe so what do they mean with the writing confused

I've a Cobalt Blue 997.1 and under direct sunlight it becomes slightly more light / "silver" than that second picture.

I think it might be "aqua blue", as found on the 997.2?
