Looking good. The front number plate is fine. The coach stripe over the car - what's the thinking there?
No real thinking to be honest, I just fancied having a stripe and wanted something a bit different. Beauty of decals is you can chop and change whenever you fancy and will instantly give a new feel to the car. I will probably try many different stripes and decals over the coming yearsMrVert said:

Very Very well judged project. What a lovely thing. I’m glad that you stuck to your guns with the carbon roof. I was definitely wrong about that.
Thank you Steve. Your words and advice along the way have been greatly appreciated. I don't think you were wrong about the roof to be honest, your advice was sound and probably the right advice. I just took a gamble on it. But having tracked her a couple of times now it is so far so good. She drives incredibly, the weight reduction is really noticeable in the corners, catches the 991 GT3's as more nimble. On the straights is about flat to the 991.1 GT3's mostly because I gain on the way out of the corners but the .2's do pull noticeably more. Not bad though for a 3.6 stock engine with just a few bolt on parts. GM182 said:
Just read the whole thread.
Congratulations on an awesome job. The finished pics show a work of great craftsmanship that you will enjoy for many years.
The BBS wheels look best btw
Thank you sir. I do love my LM's. I have gained more appreciation for the OEM wheels and use them on track but in the flesh the LMs just rock and will be the daily wheels. The brilliant silver high polished finish is like no other wheel.Congratulations on an awesome job. The finished pics show a work of great craftsmanship that you will enjoy for many years.

Love it. How about changing the rear lights to all red(oem), would make a cleaner look?
I haven't considered that to be honest Younez but open to the idea. What do others think? For sure I know I want to keep the Gen 1 look as that is what the car is but if there is a cleaner OEM lens then perhaps worth considering. Thanks for the tipCunno said:
Did you weigh the car before and after? How much weight was taken out? What were the main contribution from?

Exhaust
Roof

Carpets
Door cards

Anything else?

Stupidly I was in such a hurry to crack on that I didn't get the car weighed before we started and have yet to weight it since completed. I did however weight all individual components changed out and added in (a good number of those pics are earlier in the thread). The overall result and line by line breakout is below.
So about 100kg down give or take. It certainly feels very light and agile. Through the corners it is really on point. More nimble to be honest than the 991s as I am able to pull a gap consistently. Down the straights the 991.1s have a very very slight advantage but not enough to pass which just shows the benefit of shedding that kind of weight since my engine (3.6) is still stock with just the bolts ons mentioned above and the ECU remap not yet done.

Will do! There was that many people round your side of the garage I just left it.
Ah shame we're always up for a good natter in between sessions. I think the guys were just a bit stressed trying to make sure all went smoothly for me. Actually we had a minor coolant leak so decided to call it a day mid way through but will be back ready for the next oneThank you Chris.
Ape50, yes to be honest I also thought it was going to be more and was a little disappointed with the saving although there are two lines in the table for the total saving of about 13kg. I was initially excited when I saw the weight reading in the below picture at 25 until I later realised the scales had defaulted back to lbs and not kg. So the sunroof, mechanism and OEM lining is 25lbs (11.3kg) and I allowed 1.1kg (generous) for the new lining meaning 10.2kg saved. Then to be honest I forgot to weigh the rest of the OEM roof panel but when reading online everyone saying the non sunroof component is actually light anyway and only a couple kg different vs a carbon replacment. So in the end I got to c. 13kg saved. Mind you that is still 13kg at the highest point on the car.

One of the most informative posts ever on PH, thanks for sharing
Thanks It did take some time to pull together.
When I get time I will also show the same for the line by line build cost as requested by a few people as I set out planning to share every single part of the build with people and hopefully help a few others weigh up their own mods. It is going to be eye watering though. We are talking 991.1 GT3 territory all in even despite a relatively cheap higher mileage base car.....
