It's really odd that the Touring is louder than the winged GT3, if anything I thought the Touring would be a LOT more quieter....what with it being a 'touring' and all.
I cannot see it, same cars same design etc etc, GT3 is loud inside as is.Yes louder than the 991.1 GT3, but 991.2 are going to be the same winged or not.

There’s an owner on Rennlist who owns both cars (as you do) and posted videos of back to back with the cars on same road.same day with a dB meter in the car which showed the Touringn being louder.
would you have the link to this, i am interested to hear/see the difference.Cheib said:

Same miles/tyres, psi on the cars also, there is a big change due to miles.Geneve said:
Driven both and couldn’t honestly detect much difference in engine sound, but not really extending either.
Road noise seemed lower with Dunlop’s, than Michelin’s.
The guy on Rennlist who owns both cars resides in Belgium and a very reliable poster..He's adamant that his Touring has less soundproofing than his winger..Apparently the noise of gravel hitting the wheelarches is louder than the winger..FWIW his Touring is on Dunlops and his winger is on Michelins,,Road noise seemed lower with Dunlop’s, than Michelin’s.

Whilst we’ve sent out a few Sharkwerks bypass pipes for the Touring we had our 1st GT3 Touring spec car in on Saturday for installation of the Sharkwerks bypass pipe and a set of the stunning 100mm Sharkwerks thin wall black ceramic coated tailpipes.
Customer was well impressed with his new sound track and now feels his license is safer as he’ll get the glorious GT3 noise at a much wider and lower RPM range.
I can second that, I'm totally in love with the sound of my car even at low speeds. I've driven pass friends cars with the windows down on the motorway and they are amazed how fantastic it sounds
Looks stunning Martin and i'm glad the ABP supplied Sharkwerks is given your Touring the voice you wanted. Customer was well impressed with his new sound track and now feels his license is safer as he’ll get the glorious GT3 noise at a much wider and lower RPM range.

Great picture by the way!

Page 8 of this thread is where he posts the videos. He does a test in neutral at 4k rpm with the cars stationary which elimiabntes the tyre possibility.

thing is one is PDK with ediff and one is manual with a real diff which is the T and would make more noise imohttps://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r...
So I would say like for like manuals with real diff might well and prob would be the same.

Me too!
look like a 2nd hand £50k base 911 to me in the dull silver ! , but we all like what we like, The car def plays a role contrary to it's real looks. Mathew 7.15 "The skin is that of a sheep, but the activities are those of a wolf"
As always there is a choice which is good to have, a Silver T or a viper full fat both will have a following.

such a pity we couldn't have a full range of colours to choose from - no PTS on rhd cars.
This was it for me....I think the Touring needed something to differentiate it from your normal Carrera. Didn't need to be PTS just something that was different and unique to it. Just saw a Black Touring with Black wheels parked in Mayfair. Looked like it's getting plenty of use which is great to see and I doubt anyone apart from a someone like me would have noticed it. That's got a massive appeal for a lot of people....doesn't do anything for me though.

yep, it's a pity really. the colour choice was very limited and for me the colour I chose in the end would not have even been in my top ten of potential colours that PTS could offer.Just saw a Black Touring with Black wheels parked in Mayfair. I initially ordered jet black metallic as I thought it would have been a nice link to my old black 964 RS, but after seeing Chris Harris's black car which even with the gold wheels looked a bit ordinary, I switched to the Frankfurt launch spec of Sapphire Blue Metallic.
Luckily for me it's all about the drive really, and I always like the idea of 'speaking quietly but carrying a big stick', so the Touring option really appealed. also I knew it wouldn't be popular, and I like to have something different from the crowd.
