Looks perfect . I'd 100% go standard silver if I had my time again . Configerator was quite misleading . I've essentially paid £700 to take off the finish I wanted ! . Still it could be worse I suppose ! And I've always got RSVP911's offer if it gets to much of a problem to live with ...

The good news is I’m willing to chuck in a night at Butlins with Sam Fox and a steak supper if we do the deal by the end of the weekend .
............... Remember, don’t trust Geoff !!!

Chatting to Rick yesterday - he’s a great guy. Your car looks lovely - I think I’ve decided that my non existent car will look very similar to yours if it ever happens - It’s actually been quite good going second as you get to see lots of cars and I keep changing my mind - So all I really need is an allocation now
I love your optimism and posts It makes my ‘hopeful, possible, probable, not bloody sure if I’m getting one’ dreams feel less depressing knowing that there are plenty of others out there in the same situation as me.
Collected my new Macan GTS today and there was a Yellow Manual GT3 with full Clubsport spec ready to go out on Monday so another happy owner counting down the minutes....

Was going to change a month ago for 991.1 PDK GT3. I had my 997.1 GT3 for 5 years and felt i might need a change to a newer car.It maybe the wrong choice, as i love the 997 feel. Im ready to buy but i do love a manual. Until the 991.2 hits the second hand market i think i will be happy sticking with mine.

If you love a manual then I 100% wouldn’t buy a gen 1 PDK . I came from 5 years in a 996 clubsport then into 997 clubsport which was sold for a 991.1 GT3 allocation . Sold it within 5 months . It’s undoubtly the quicker option but you either love them or you don’t ...Just observed when cleaning my car this afternoon that the bonnet edge butting the wing at the windscreen end is slightly raise do on the near side but perfectly level on the off side. Anyone else got the same? One of those things that after seeing it you can’t unsee it, no matter how minor the difference. Interest if “they are all like that guv”?

Well - 70 miles in it today and all I can say is WOW - what a drive...
The gearbox is superb - really tight and direct gearshift action with a proper positive engagement when engaging the gear. The clutch is light, but doesn't feel too light - it's a non-issue. The pedals are good for heal and toe-ing. In comparison to a GT4 then it's much better in this regard (note - both shod with PCCBs). Indeed it was really good and I found myself not using the rev-matching feature - although that is very good for when you are just leisurely driving.
One big thing to note - the engine responsiveness - if you even think about modulating the throttle input, then the engine responds instantly and you can feel the rate of change of acceleration change immediately too - this is much more noticeable that in any previous GT3 I've driven.
Handling is epic just as all GT3's are. The PASM is good - the firm setting not too much different to it not being selected - on the road at least - so for most of the time, I had firm PASM and no Sport button so that I could heal & toe. PSE on of course...
More to follow in due course, once I have done more miles - but so far bloody awesome

Unlucky I guess but that should be dealer adjustable? 'Any fears that the ferocity of the engine’s performance or the immediacy of the car’s responses might overwhelm that manual gearbox, simply don’t materialise. The shift is so quick and accurate, which when you’ve got an engine that’s as happy to rev to its 9,000rpm redline as the GT3’s, is a very good thing indeed'.
'The mating of the manual transmission to the screaming, race-derived 4.0-lltre flat-six unit is achieved beautifully – operating with all the cohesive, immersive mastery that the rest of the car exhibits. The GT3 with PDK has character and charm in spades, but this one’s even more hilarious, and the best driver’s car we’ve driven in a long time'.

Verdict - 5 Stars
"We’ve unequivocal praise for the Porsche 911 GT3. The PDK car is a treat, but easier isn’t always better. This manual takes everything that is great about the auto and throws an extra dose of engagement into the mix. In the increasingly homogenised world of performance driving, sometimes the fastest isn’t always the best. Take a bow Porsche, this six-speed GT3 is the best 911 on sale today".

It was always a given, who wants an automatic GT3 ? "We’ve unequivocal praise for the Porsche 911 GT3. The PDK car is a treat, but easier isn’t always better. Mine should be arriving this week with some luck. Mines white with platinum wheels and PCCB's so will be interesting to see how it looks compared to yours which looks great. I', in two minds as to whether to go decals or not though? Phooey said:

I think this is my fave pic so far. White, silver rims, black accents / stripe. So simple yet so effective. Love the decal.I love the look, so much so that I'm going to try it out on my 997 GT3.

I love the wording at the end "on sale TODAY" a bit of a cop out and I'm not sure it's better than a GT2RS - both of which are currently on sale today - not that this means anything - as we know they are not easy things to get hold of "We’ve unequivocal praise for the Porsche 911 GT3.
