Hah. Sorry for causing a bust-up! You two should go for a beer and make friends. It's nearly Christmas. I'm not saying they've had 12 already just that they were allocated 12 in the first run. I will ask when I go in next.

Don't get me wrong, I look forward to the banter! I'm tempted to call out 911R's spelling of the word painful, but then I'd be just as bad!

My Boxster Spyder 981 had at least a 20k premium for the buyer, so I think it is a 'bargain' if you can get a GT3 for 30k over. Relatively speaking.

Anyone traded in a GT4 for a 991.2 gt3? If so would appreciate some idea if what they offered (pm is fine if you want to keep private). Appreciate the trade in is part of "the deal" to get an allocation, but just want to be sure they're not totally taking the piss.

Mine is a very well spec'd(~80k+ otr), low mileage, late reg gt4.

Cheers
I think you may be looking at the list price of an averagely specced car as a trade-in value. I suspect it will start with a 6 or 7 if you are lucky.

And remember, this 550 Spyder sold for nearly £5m and the main reason was that had NEVER been restored, never PPF'd, never revved in a car park, and driven as nature intended. Genuinely, I saw it and it it was knackered, cosmetically, - but knackered though driving. So the lesson is to drive it, hard, in the rain, wind and snow!!!!

I did not type it right, I meant to say it feels a bit low rent due to cloth, and it’s not a GT3 due to no wing.

I wanted to spec a T but due to the inside on a £130k car and other bits missing I did not feel it looked good value, forget overs or how rare it is, you first have to want the car.

we also have 2 911 T models. One is £85k and the other looks the same and is £111k

The single most reason for me to go T would have been rear sear ! And again touring model where you cannot take your kids feels you may as well have a wing.

Did you get an allocation? Surprised you think it’s low-rent. I’ve not seen one in the flesh yet. Where did you see one? I’m surprised that you’ve passed on the allocation just because of the interior??

I assume he’s bought a few Ferrari’s from the same group but could be wrong. Don’t think Wilmslow is a Porsche owned OPC either so guess they can do whatever they like.

Don't know why you don't just buy a Carrera S if you're gonna go with a touring pack. You're gonna buy a car, then pay extra for it to look like a car it's not. Makes no sense to me.
I will give you a clue as to why I did it. It's got 4.0 litres and is normally aspirated.

If you aren't going to track it and you're taking the wing off, buy a C2S and leave the GT3 allocations to those who want to look like they're driving a mental car 24/7
I already have a 991.2 GTS. I've only bought a GT3 Touring to put in the garage, maybe take the odd photo. Sorry I've deprived a proper owner of a proper GT3. smile

IIRC i thought you've stated many times in the past that you hate cages in road cars..As a rule i also hate them however the temptation of having a costly option free of charge from Porsche was too strong to turn down.
You are assuming that something said in the past, is a good indicator of what will be said in the future smile

that's because your post was untrue, it was a little annoying ;-) I have owned 93 cars now I think, I rave about the cars I love and always honest about other cars which I own as much as I can be. my only long term keeper has been the 987.2 Spyder, I do think it's a great thing. and I do love the R's it's the only car I have had 2 of !

I think I would rather a GTS Boxster than a Spyder if I were only after 1 car garage and tweak it.

I am hoping the new GT3 allows me to sell a load of cars and fills in a load of gaps/weakness's , at this record spend for me it had better be every thing and more ;-)

GT3 991.2 Manual, 987.2 Spyder and the Golf CS should have me stable for a bit I hope. I'll miss my R :-( but the plus side is I hope I will use the 987.2 Spyder more in 2018.
Did you have to buy the Spyder to get the GT3?

Just heard from the OPC that my Touring (complete with Alcantara Sun Visors) is now in the UK, awaiting customs clearance. Should be with me next week, for the heatwave - just clearing my diary smile

I wanted my Touring to look like this (hence it required PCCBs).
