Well, I’ve just found out that I’m not one of the lucky ones this time around. Not sure if there will be another round either. Gutted
Sorry to hear this - you never know later allocations sometimes happen - I’d keep in touch with your OPC just in case - good luck. 2010spy said:
Just spent a fun hour with the OPC finalising my spec. It is now complete! For those interested, here it is - PJU2D9Q6. The main dilemma was Folding Buckets or Full Bucket Seats. I wanted Folding, but I still think they sit too high so I have gone for Full Buckets which are height adjustable.
FWIW - I have cars with both - I prefer the folding in my 981 Spyder as they can be heated - otherwise I'd go with the 918 buckets - both are amazingly comfy seats though - can't loose with either RSVP911 said:

Thanks. The problem may be my car. I have Folding in 987 Spyder - feel very high. I had Full Bucket in 981 Spyder - felt perfect. It might be that the seats in the 987 were just higher generally?Robograd said:
I sincerely hope you all get an allocation. The waiting/no information sucks big time but makes an eventually successful outcome so much sweeter. The downside, though, is that some will never experience the upside. There has to be a better way to run the allocation system: one that doesn't leave people hanging on, in the dark, for such a protracted period of time.
Again, fingers crossed for you all.
Thanks - but its a FWP - what will be will be Again, fingers crossed for you all.

So are a large majority of people financing their GT3?
I presumed that most would have been cash purchases, but having never bought a new GT car before I don’t know the protocol. I understand that it’s good to use someone else’s money, but at 5-7% APR is not be comfortable loading a large amount onto my new purchase.
Im like you, not a fan of finance but if I say had my own business Id hope you could find a place to invest money in that business and get a better return that 6% it costs you to borrow money against a car. End of the day car companies are all about finance now...it’s how they retain customers. The dealers track people’s PCP deals and the residuals on the cars so they know exactly when to get on the phone and offer them a deal to “roll” into a new car i.e. they know the point where the maximum equity is.

BTW Spec looks great - just needs the decals on the side and you're done neunelfer said:
Confirmed March 2018 build, locking down final spec in the next couple of weeks.
Congratulations - but this is getting bloody ridiculous now - going to have stop reading this thread - I've just burst out laughing, I think it's really funny - god only knows what I've done - must have done some bad st in an earlier life and this must be Karma - the double lepar isaldiri said:
A lot of leper's wouldn't mind the modern Porsche you have (991RS and 7.2RS) I suspect......
Don't mean to sound like as much of a prat as I'm sure this comes across but for those of you (especially) with GT cars already, is getting a new one really that important you're all on such tenterhooks about an allocation?
Hi there - you're right - I've got nothing to worry about and I can see how this could sounds a bit crass if misconstrued. & you're right, if I get one great and if not, so be it.
I guess I'm just having a giggle really - I thought various amusing posts about my trials and tribulations might raise a smile in the PH community - nothing more

Not sure as I've never tried them unless they are the same as a 997.2 RS buckets ?918 buckets are a much sexier looking seat though IMHO

it's tempting to buy one, I got into Pork in 2005 so my 1st car was a 987.1 which I did like loads sounded better than the 987.2 cars also.in fact my 1st pork is up for sale atm :-) good to see it's still going strong with all the mods I did to it.
for £8k is a 986 worth a buy to have a go ? or will it be a money pit !
