Love the 991 RS... Saw one today in UV and what road presence it has!
I wouldn't disagree with you there ............. well this thread is a bit light on pics mattf93 said:
Looks like the 991.2 GT3 RS has been spotted tested - I think it loks awesome but I am sure itll split opinion with the 2rs bonnet vents etc.
Such an aggressive looking car but wonder what bhp itll be if the GT3 is 500?

Crikey, that’s look ace! Love the aggressive bonnet with what looks to be slight recess areas to where the vents reside... I still think there go 4.2 530-550bhp
Just can't see a 4.2. No motorsport car is using that and they have done a lot of work to get the 4litre in the cup, gt3r and rsr. My guess would be 520-530PS with the current .2 gt3 4.0 engine.Fokker said:
That looks so damn good... Want want want and in black too.
the f**kers probably won't let you have it in black though!!!It does look mean, I think it would be awesome to get basalt black metallic then get matte PPF wrap on top so you don't have the pitfalls of matte paint but it will look mean as anything
That said I would also like to PTS my theoretical slot of the .2 GT3 RS to something like Mexico blue.
Or if it was even a slight possibility Blu Electricco (which is a Ferrari colour)

Again I won't disagree, have to say I really do like this car and it'll be a sad day if it ever goes.
Not convinced on the spy pics of the .2 but time will tell, will UV be available again I wonder ??
Well they've done orange, green and purple... Signal yellow would be good but knowing Porsche and their predictability they'll make up something new and UV will be added to the PTS selection for people to pay for. Got to make a profit! Not as easy to tell as 996 and 997 RS are lumped together but it looks like around 128 were registered in total between 2009 and 2012. There were also 33 997 RS 4.0 registered new.
Total numbers of 996 + 997 RS in the UK now (end of June 2017) are 232 taxed and 140 SORN Also 30 taxed 997 RS 4.0 and 20 SORN.
Cheers thanks - 128 - it’s rarer than I thought Total numbers of 996 + 997 RS in the UK now (end of June 2017) are 232 taxed and 140 SORN Also 30 taxed 997 RS 4.0 and 20 SORN.

I still reckon that the new RS gen 2 will be packing a 4.2 lump knocking out 530 BHP at the very least. There will also be the option of the Weissach Pack, why wouldn't they? This car could well be the final swansong for the NA engine.
I cannot see the point in a 4.2 either, the 4.0 will do 535BHP no issue and of course we will have Weissach Pack options, if not for the wheels alone. But yes looks like the last NA GT3
But maybe not the last NA GT car.

Well maybe I should have clarified.I can't say I'm blown away by new design front bumper to start with, so together with the vents which look a tad fussy IMO - I'm not really convinced as yet.
Now I do appreciate Porsche changes usually do grow on you, so I imagine it'll start to look fine to me when it appears fully road ready in a Porsche launch picture.

I think it being black densest help as it hides the definition of everything - in GT Silver for example it would be a lot nicer to see all the details. I bought a 991 RS recently, RHD and UV. Coming from numerous Ferraris, some still in the garage, I completely get this car (my first Porsche GT after a 996 C4S and 997 GTS). Forget rarity value and collectors, this car is a totally different proposition to the Carreras. Its value should hold well (whatever that means) because it is so much more car, not just because of its rarity.
The Carreras are not in the same league as the Ferraris (fabulous though they are) but the RS definitely is. The motorsport engine, a match for the Ferrari V8s and their superior in terms of sound, the exotic materials - magnesium roof, carbon wings, bonnet and other parts - the lexan rear window and side quarters, the peerless PDK, the huge wheel specification (21”/20”, 265 front, 325 rear) and the overall feel of the car with its partially rose-jointed suspension and bullet-proof feel. This feels like a car that should cost more than its retail price.
From the price I paid (which I had to think long and hard about since I don’t like the idea of paying over list) I believe the depreciation level will keep the car in the realm of ‘good value’ given the owning and driving experience, which is of the very highest order.
My car had a little less than 3k on it and I have added 900 miles in three weeks. My car won’t sit around but I’ll settle down from my present rate and end up in the 3k pa region I suspect. In 3 years it will be 5 years old with around 12-14k on it, so still fairly low. I’m not worried about its value since I can’t see it being worth £100k at that point, more likely £150-£180k (I.e. a little less than a 997.2 at the same age - 991 is a better car IMV but less rare). If I’m right, I will consider that excellent value given what I paid.
