Anyone for ‘T’
Discussion
I agree, I seem to remember it gets you the leather dash, not sure if I’m misremembering that though. Ideally it would be good to see a T and non T interior in the flesh. Would I spec it again…..not sure!

My T should be here in 6 weeks or so with a bit of luck
As I'll be doing less than 3000 miles a year in it, and as the T has a smaller (lithium?) battery, I'm expecting to have the car on a trickle charger.
Any advice on which one to get? do Porsche sell a similar one (and put the appropriate Porsche tax on?)
Thanks in advance
CTEK do a lithium charger / conditioner and probably supply the one for Porsche anyway. As I'll be doing less than 3000 miles a year in it, and as the T has a smaller (lithium?) battery, I'm expecting to have the car on a trickle charger.

Or Optimate also do one.
I have had mine for a several days now and whilst I haven’t gone too far (pending PPF), I have to say I absolutely love it! I go as far as saying I prefer it to the Carrera 4 GTS it has replaced!
All the options I went for I’m delighted with, but I have now found myself wondering if I should have stretched to the Burmester! I hadn’t imagined I would get quite so attached to it, but I have! Oh well!

Buy one which specifically states suitable for LiFePO₄As I'll be doing less than 3000 miles a year in it, and as the T has a smaller (lithium?) battery, I'm expecting to have the car on a trickle charger.

I bought a CTEK CS ONE from smartchargers but not tried it yet as I just picked up my car today. You could probably buy a Porsche branded charger from your OPC but it won't have all the functionality of the ONE.

Ctek one looks good! Please let us know how well it works with the 992 T battery.
Does a modern car need to be on a battery conditioner, especially one with a lithium battery which is designed to hold full charge for longer..? I had a 992 GT3 and 992 GTS, both of which had lithium batteries, were left locked for weeks at a time and never struggled to start…996 and 997 a different story, they’ll go flat in a week..!

It depends on the usage and mileage… if you use it daily with a decent distance then probably not.996 and 997 a different story, they’ll go flat in a week..!
If you listen to The Smoking Tyre podcast, Matt Farrah who runs a car storage facility says they have had a LOT of issues with the cars on LiPos losing charge if not kept on a charger. At which point the car is dead and the battery needs to be replaced.
For the sake of a few quid for the charger I wouldn’t run the risk of you plan on having the car layed up for any period of time.

Sensible advice….For the sake of a few quid for the charger I wouldn’t run the risk of you plan on having the car layed up for any period of time.
Check out the $ cost for a 992 GT3 lithium battery towards the end of this Mat Armstrong video:

Whether you would pay under warranty would be down to Porsche - hopefully they would not cite that you had not kept it charged through lack of use or connection to an official Porsche charger. My Dad's 8 year old Yaris (8,000 miles) always has a flat battery because of limited use. This year he had a new Toyota dealer one fitted, but this also went kaput due to the same factors, but Toyota replaced it with a new one as it was under warranty.

Never had a problem leaving cars long lengths of time without a trickle charger. Just returned from 8 weeks away and our 5 year old mini jcw (original battery) started no problems and it’s been a cold period. My cars are always used and even ones that weren’t used much always had decent runs in between use and never had a problem with battery’s
