I really struggle with the idea of Privacy Glass on a 911 too. Very happy to admit I have it on our Cayenne but that's because we have young kids more than aesthetics.
Privacy glass on 911s generally appeals to those with drug lord/batman/knight/night rider aspirations and in many cases actually devalues the car as most purchasers view it as erring a touch on the chav side.Especially pointless with rear seat delete.

What about me?Especially pointless with rear seat delete.
Rear seat delete = Perfect
Privacy glass = Perfect
Dog in the back, dog not on show so much when parked up. = Perfect
Not everyone is the same, thats why we spec our cars from new. Not for the next buyer. I couldn't give a st what the next guy wants if he buys my car.
But I am not normal!!! ;-)

Couldn’t agree more.. sums me up completely.. ! or the fact that it’s quite useful in keeping prying eyes away from stuff you might have left on the back seat.... the other reason of course is that Porsche allows you to spend your own money and have something called choice.... which is a great thing and allows diversity...but conversely also allows people to have rash opinions on owners based on their choice of glass...... You have to be kidding ..!?Especially pointless with rear seat delete.

No real issue being on showIt’s just that the privacy glass stops people stopping and looking....
As I said it’s a ‘perfect’ solution for me...
That others don’t like it, I don’t care.
Just stating a reason people opt for it.
Now, the cage in the back of the RS was a mistake!
Dog really doesn’t like that....& no privacy on those plastic windows!!!
:-)
No privacy glass on the 911T, nor my 812, but full dark tints on my Aventador S. Go figure...
Anyway - back to the DAB beef - my T is on a boat as we speak.
Do I have any recourse to get a retrofit DAB free before collecting?
I can cause some noise online about it if that helps, but would rather not.

should have kept that Performante !!! such a nice car and has just won Sports auto best handling car 2018 and wiped the floor on the new GT3 and 720S in the lap time by a big margin.Anyway - back to the DAB beef - my T is on a boat as we speak.

It's the car to own atm imo esp looking at 458 S £350k prices a list Performante looks a sweet buy.
To All Chavs, wannabe drug dealers, Knight Riders and people who believe choice is important... oh and dog owners, people who want to leave stuff on the back seat and those who might like darkened and tinted glass and anyone else who actually cares..
My dealer has spoken to the Product Manager at Porsche UK... (and also the guy sorting out the DAB debacle) he has stated again, and I have it via e-mail ...that the tinted glass IS also the Lightweight glass, so hopefully those listed above should be OK...of course until we get the cars who really knows but a little assurance..

My dealer has the Porsche UK Product Manager on it ................so they are looking for a fix for all... I'd log it with your dealer, and then think about the nuclear option....!!Anyway - back to the DAB beef - my T is on a boat as we speak.

Yeah, l read the T review first- it was disappointing, then the GT3 touring review which was equally luke warm?! Both reviews lost credibility with me after that.
So if a review does not give you an answer you like you dismiss it? What if it's on the money and you're kidding yourself?Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
