Anyone for ‘T’
Discussion
I too went today to my dealer and deleted the privacy glass. The sales manager said that they found out late yesterday and I was the second person to go in today and delete the option.
I also went to another OPC today and they said that they had a total of 5 build slots but took 10 orders but are not hopeful of fulfilling the remaining 5. I asked if I could get a build and leave him a £5k deposit and he said there was no chance of getting one. This same dealer had 11 GT4 allocations. Seems that some dealers are sold out completely and other centres can still get cars??

Looks as if I've bucked the trend and done all the wrong things!
Ordered a GT Silver with PDK, put the seats and the PCM back in...specced a heavy [oops] full glass sunroof with privacy rear window, Carrera T interior package along with some other minor bits including white dials and sensors front & rear.
Ohh well...Im sure it will be fine!

First post - welcome Myf. How long until you order locks?
It's tradition that one makes 3, 4 or 5 revisions to the spec before lock-down, totally changing it to something different. All dealer's love preparing countless revised contracts, especially on a Saturday.
In the end, one goes reverts to the original spec at the 11th hour.

The car is due April, so I think all will be fine! Was going to order Mexico blue, but as my current car is a Macan GTS in Mexico I thought I'd go for a 'quieter' colour this time. The only part of the spec that I knew I wanted from day one were the standard wheels which I much prefer and the sunroof.....I always order a glass roof on my cars....I jut love the look. This will be my 1st 911 so apprehensive [to be honest I've always struggled with the image.....sorry!] and excited. How long until you order locks?

Interestingly the OPC that I normally deal with refused to sell me one as they said I'd be selling on in 12 months and they 'don't sell to re-sellers'. One totally random 10 minute call to Porsche Edinburgh secured me a car, so will be staying with them in the future, even though they are around 250 miles away....seems mad to me, but will be their loss as I have a new car every year.

Car sounds great and given the factory shut down this summer if you have spec changes I’d do so now and leave it be. Late spec changes even if reverting to standard spec can cause delays which you don’t want given how close your car is to the summer st down.

Thank you for that...I don't know how to put pics up !!! How do I make my file size smaller? If you’re in windows you can right click and choose reduce file size, but not sure if the program is on all windows versions or if you have to download the app. Btw car looks great in yellow- what interior did you go with ?
For those that are interested, here s my thoughts on my T after nearly a thousand miles.
At no point have I wished it was faster. I own much faster cars, but this car has not left me wanting more straight line pace whilst driving 500 miles on Welsh a and b roads today.
The steering is totally fine. It's no 996gt3, but its still great.
The brakes were great too. It's been a very wet day and in the dry I'd brake harder later deeper. But today they were excellent.
The suspension feels very similar to my 2015 boxster spyder. Obviously the balance is different but the reaction to dips bumps crests compressions yumps feels very similar. That's a Good Thing.
The T interior in yellow looks ace.
The car has good stance.
The gear shift is very good but the 7 speed box is still st in the 5-6-7 planes.
I can hear a few more minor mechanical noises than I can in my other 991 s. Is that the thinner glass and reduced sound deadening?
The car feels 'special' ......and that alone is worth the premium.
