I guess I may as well add this in here.

My wife won a 911 Carrera T with BOTB last Tuesday. We are in shock ever since, it's been a week to remember.
As I live in Ireland and the extra taxes here we need to pay we will be having to keep the spec as standard as possible.
So far, we are thinking red, manual, rear seats installed, PCM/Digital radio installed, rear sensors, Sports Chrono/App, cruise control. And that is possibly about it.

Does a tracker come as standard, is it Cat 5 and Vodafone ? Or how do you spec this as I can’t see it on the configuration ?
Most new Porsches come with PVTS as standard, but it's an extra £219 per year to activate the service. I'm unlikely to activate it on my new Cayenne, given it isn't mandatory for insurance and only cuts the premium by £100.

Thanks Phooey. There isn't really much needed to add to it I feel. It comes well enough equipped as is. (for a Porsche that is rare!)

My insurance company have said they'll only cover the car if it has a tracker installed as it is valued at over €100,000 here. Again thanks for the info.

Amazing result, well done to you both. Any spec in a T seems to be great from what I've seen. I've done just over a 1000 miles in mine now and they are a special car. I'm sure you will both love it smile

Does anyone know the rough percentages of manual to PDK?
Are the majority of them manual?
Is this being viewed as a baby GT3's so has to be manual for many or what?

About a month ago I did a summary of specs and got the following, I think I’ve picked up that there’s one pdk on here now but happy to be corrected
23 specs listed, no PDK's listed although some unknown
7 x Racing Yellow
6 x White
5 x GT Silver
2 x Guards Red
2 x Jet Black Met
1 x Miami Blue

Is there any build 991 T allocations left?
I thought everything was done and dusted for this model year?
And, out of interest, is it a UK or Eire build, I always wondered if there was any difference?

Thanks Not Ideal.

Koln-RS, I've no idea about build slots or if BOTB could source an already built car for me.
To the best of my knowledge both UK and Irish cars are the same spec.

Terry , AV , IR - notice you all have T’s - how are you finding them - how do they compare to the GT3 ?

Drove behind one yesterday - pretty from the rear - had a very synthetic farty pop exhaust though (maybe PSE was on and it is ok without ?)

Is the clutch as light as the GT3 ?

Looked really nice smile

Cheers .

Evening Richard.

Early days with the T on 450 miles but an interesting contrast with the GT3!

Usable, very economical and reminds me very much of a basic 997.1 in many ways....including the sound.

Steering is similar to the 981 Spyder, clutch similar also and bizarrely slightly heavier than the GT3. Mine is basic 'manuel' apart from T pack light glass pcm and rear seats.

Gearbox not as good as the GT4 or GT3. Has a slight vagueness around the 5th 6th gear plane but 7th ok and suitably tall for serious cruising and economy.

Engine is surprisingly good and betters the C2S unit in many ways being the sweeter unit.

Slight turbo lag and turbo whine at lower revs but acceptable and character very similar to the 3.8 na.

'Farty' pops etc more pronounced in Sport mode and slightly more subdued than 981 Spyder.

Overall an interesting package.

Are you considering one?
Hi there thanks for the write up .

Maybe for my wife - assume with shut down they are all finished now anyway.

Cheers smile

After a few weeks of ownership, I love my Carrera T. The exhaust pop on overun is a little synthetic, but you can't actually hear it that much from the cabin. Interestingly, you don't get the popping in Sport + mode, which still has PSE active. As others have noted, the 6th/5th gear plane is a little vague, but it just needs precision. The absence of sound proofing is quite apparent compared to a GTS - the noise from stones being flicked up into the wheel arches is noticeable, and very GT3 like...While it only has 370Bhp, you certainly don't ever think it needs more...I definitely prefer it to the GT4 I had....

Purely for the purpose of bench marking, after getting home from a 100 mile drive in the Carrera T late one night last week, I immediately went out in the GT3 for a 50 miles blast on some fast A roads near me, just to get a comparison.......once it was up to temperature, and you start pushing it, you quickly realise how terrifyingly quick it is....The suspension has noticeably less travel than the Carrera T, yet manages to iron out the surface imperfections in the road. When you turn into a sequence of bends at optimistic speeds, there is just hardly any roll...suspension wizadry at its best.
Cheers IR - glad you like it .

I’m loving the GT3 - it’s a beast : perfect car for me.

BTw : I have had your snow drift pic put onto a mug smile

Mine is pretty similar to my 997 GTS so far which I am quite happy with, especially as the car has not yet cracked 600 miles.

I can't say I have had any great opportunity to "stretch its legs" yet though.

Just seen this on another forum, anybody waiting for delivery been contacted?

Had this earlier from my OPC

The reason for the email is to make you aware of a stop sale campaign which effects delivery of your new Panamera , unfortunately we were informed late Friday of the stop campaign which includes all makes and models in the Porsche range. It is in reference to the mobile booster in the centre console and only effects cars in the UK. Porsche are working on a fix in the short term and hopefully it won’t have an impact too much on delay.

I trust you understand that this is out of my control and has no bearing on Porsche Chester, as soon as I have an update I will come to you 1st instance. We are being informed it could be up to a 2 week delay at the moment but they are working on it as we speak as it includes all centres and all cars.
