I can't imagine any T getting even close to the Spyder in terms of fun with the added benefit of guaranteed future classic car status due to less than 200 cars in the whole of the UK.
229 wink
I have Spyder number slightly lower:

Aug17 "how many left" website for the 981 spyder :

3800cc to 3899cc 178 38

they have 178 taxed & 38 sorn , so 216 spyder for uk it seems.

I'm using DVLA registration data, so that will be how many started life here/were delivered.

I think some Spyders might have already left these shores for other RHD markets...?

Possibly, or the figures elsewhere are inaccurate.

I’m new to this forum but have avidly read and greatly enjoyed the 90 odd pages (so far) of “Anyone for ‘T’.” I actually discovered this thread having already ordered my GT silver T with a few simple extras including the T interior.

Having chopped through a couple of hundred miles I think this is a truly outstanding sports-car. Where Porsche went wrong was in communicating the wrong image for the car; not in what it has actually built which is the synthesis of a road-going driver’s 911. The direct drive and weight of the gearbox (manual) has the feel of the last generation. The cloth and decals are nicely retro. And the modern turbo-charged engine - viewed as an engine rather than through the lens of NA or whatever - is fabulous with gusts of torque. This is actually great because you can drive easily around town or sit on a mountain of torque wave when really shifting.

So am I pleased? You bet. Have I owned a string of 911s? No, but driving this one I’m not sure I need to buy another one for along time (and I’ve driven a few of the humbler versions).

How many? My guy said each OPC got 5 cars. Maybe a few more got through. Maybe some didn’t sell their allocation. I reckon we’re looking at under 200 cars. And I reckon we’re looking at only 125 or so with the correct and appopriate manual transmission. Actually pretty special. But more than that they’re brilliant to drive - at any speed.

In the right spec it’s the 997 GTS Reimagined

We all know how good they are as a road car...

bar the 997 GTS has 405bhp and a engine which keeps reving and making BHP to red line and was the top 997 non GT car.

The T is the base car of the line 911 range the 991.2 GTS is the 997 GTS in the right spec. please !!!!

fair point i see almost no way the T resembles the 997 GTS more than the actual 991.2 GTS,

what makes a GTS?

Widebody with 2WD
GTS trim and interior
Reduced sound insulation (T has this)
Centerlocks
Power upgrade (T is not even an S)
lowered ride height (T has this)
tweaked suspension and geometry (T has this idk?)
Pure cosmetics black accents, smoked lights
GTS bodykit

To me the above list makes me think its the better choice as mentioned before however i dont want everyone to buy a GTS that would be dull

[/quote] Finally tracked the last yellow, manual T down to Tonbridge and made a call. Still available this morning! Called my client, decision by end of today. Called back later and it was sold. Slightly miffed, but well done to the lucky new owner!

Yes, sorry that was me but I had already been in touch with them before and I pulled the trigger on it as I couldn't find a yellow manual one with 4-way seats although I'm now looking forward to the LWB's. Collection in 10 days and counting...

I'm sure you will love the T in 9 more sleeps time. I didn't go for 'Racing Yellow' but have to say they look stunning in the flesh in that colour, don't they TGETV / rob.kellock ??

I ordered mine last November and have enjoyed a superb 1800 miles since March delivery. It astounds me how many people seem to judge a product without possibly driving and/or seeing it (I'm referring to the few negative comments earlier in this thread, and the many comparisons to other models in the Porsche range)

In the last 6 months I've had good experiences driving (road and track) and observing close-up some of the latest Porsche products (991.2 GT3, 991.2 GTS, 991.1R, 991.2 C2, 991.2 GT2RS and Cayman GTS / GT4) and have to say they are all great cars but also, I think, very different cars to own and to drive and for different individual reasons.

What is good to hear is that all the recent owners of T's appear to only have the highest praise for them.

As a smile for mile (for pound) car I cannot fault my choice. driving

Chris - I agree, they do look particularly good in silver, especially with the ceramic brakes.

I would probably have chosen that combination but was very keen to keep costs as low as possible and saved a fair amount sticking to yellow and standard brakes. I do like the yellow though, I have never had a yellow car before for one thing and it does amuse the inner child in me a little!

Bloooming heck the GT Silver one looks nice 👍

Near identical to my spec T although I bottled it after the first reviews (on winter tyres) and changed to a GTS.

It’s fabulous the new T owners are enjoying them so much.

Have you owned a 997 GTS, Carerra T and an 991.2 3.0 GTS? I have and the T feels more like a 997 GTS than a 991.2 GTS... 997 GTS was considerably heavier than the T in the right spec and with the extra torque, well, if you’ve owned them you would undetstand the corilation.

You could order the 997 GTS without centre locks as many did...
