The T looks fantastic in GT silver especially with the yellow T interior..Don't worry about having a PDK T as my OPC told me they always spec PDK on showroom stock T's to enhance saleability..

Happy New Car Myf, great spec. Can't beat a GT Silver T, even if you can't be arsed to change gear drivingdrivingsmilesmilesmile

Ok so i went to my dealer today to chase up my DAB PCM.

I had been told that this would be a recall for a softare update, however iam now being told that the car needs a new PCM unit as well as a new windscreen which incorporates a DAB aerial.

I find it hard to believe that Porsche would produce a completely different windscreen for the few 911's which have actually been produced without DAB?

If this is the case i am going to just leave the car with the FM stereo, not ideal but i dont want a car with less than 1000 miles on the clock being pulled apart.

Annoying really as it should have been installed from the start!

I wouldn't be keen either. This may be of little consolation but I've yet to turn my radio on - enjoying the engine note too much! I was only thinking today whether I'll ever listen to the sound of the BOSE. However, I'm pleased with the LED option as they are brilliant and really make night time driving in the country a doddle. All up I couldn't be happier with the car. I see Mr TGE TV is getting rid of his with an arrival of a GT car.
Any other T lovers?

I don't....windscreen is probably 20 or 30% cheaper without the DAB aerial in it....maybe more as it probably makes manufacturing a lot more complex. Multiply that by the no of 911's they make and it starts becoming a significant number when you use that logic on all the parts.

It's a bit like the wiring loom on a GT3 Touring is different to that on a normal GT3....the only difference real difference between the cars is the rear wing. You'd think they'd just use the same wiring loom in both cars and leave the unnecessary connections as spare...but they don't. All about the details !

Surprising how many T's still for sale at OPC's, taking into account great reviews from owners and testers..
Maybe some with not ideal spec or indeed too meaty on the options thus pushing the price uncomfortable high??

I do know where there is a brand new del mile white car with, to me, ideal spec - at what seems a very competitive price point..
Spec inc : Non sunroof, manual, light glass, T pack, and quite a few other bits ..

Anyone in market for one and wants to save £££ compared to OPC listings - ping me.

I started looking at T’s about 8 - 10 weeks ago - virtually every car that was listed is still available - it’s grown from about 8 cars to 24 now (plus significant showroom stock not shown) - lots around as they were used as pawns in the GT game + Porsche pumped out lots of dealer stock b4 fac shut down.

I would hazard a guess that the real reason they use a different wiring loom for the touring is because it needs an extra wire and an extra wire costs money. In addition to the extra wire, there is probably an extra fuse and an extra switch for the touring over the non-touring.

Why would you as a manufacturer include an extra wire in all the non-touring cars? Its just wasted money.

Having one loom for all GT3's would be much cheaper, from an design engineering, stocking, part management point of view.

I suspect if the Touring was launch when the GT3 was I think there would be one loom that fits all, but as the Touring was added after they then had to think about the extra wire required.

I'm sure I saw that all cars Porsche produce have bespoke looms based on the build options chosen...

Interesting observation. I have just bought a showroom T and whilst there are plenty out there most are not great spec. I needed manual, rear seats, reasonably low spec. There were 3/4 in the country after phoning every dealer. Loads of PDK, and lots of high spec or no rear seats. Will be interesting to see what drives residual values of these. For me a key USP of a 911 is the rear seats for example.

Yes I agree with this - if you want a specific spec it gets much harder and finding manual low spec cars was difficult as most OPC’s speced heavily as they knew they wouldn’t have much to sell during the shut down. I happened to be walking past Mayfair today & saw a really nice manual yellow with PCCB’s and 918 buckets at - something like £k106 - crazy money for a T - I think they are best very simply speced. They also had a Black PDK T with 4 ways and Yellow stitch in the showroom. (Bonnet scratched in a few places : would polish out but not good on a new car)

Enjoy your car smile

Sounds like TGE TV's car as he's announced it's going in order to make room for an incoming GT model. I wonder if he'll miss it as they're such great cars.
