looks great, I keep coming back to the T as a move from my 997.2 GTS manual, I'm not sure why, I think it's a mix of more modern refinements and possibly I'm just bored...this one looks greatAs to the comment on sunroof, i know it is blasphemy. I would not mind it though...
Looks a nice if somewhat overpriced car.
The only mistake spec wise imo is the privacy glass option which would have deleted the thinner optional standard lighter windows which not only save weight but allow more external exhaust noise into the cabin which was an essential feature with the T and true to its ethos.
The other no no are the red ott dials and red chrono clock but a restricted number of buyers don't mind them.
Unclear whether the car has DAB which should have been standard but actually wasn't fitted on some cars.
The Alcantara steering wheel and gear lever were standard no cost even though the ad implies they were a costed option. Smooth leather was also a no cost option.
Ad incorrectly says the car has Pirellis but it has Michelins.

with regards to the extra exhaust noise with thinner glass, you can't hear the exhaust over the tyre noise! I’ve had both a 997.2 GTS and a Carrera T. Preferred the T by quite some margin. Best handling 911 I’ve owned (had 5). Don’t know why I sold it. Lungauer said:

That's interesting. I keep wondering if I should take advantage of the current mad prices of 997GTS manuals, sell and then wait for prices to return to normality and pick up a T, sending it straight to Litchfield. On the other hand, it might just be boredom/over familiarity with the GTS. I love it, but after 10 years probably take it for granted. The grass isn't always greener..............or is it?
The Carrera T and 997 GTS are similar in many respects but I would say it comes down to whether you prefer older school or newer 911.
The main differences are obviously na v turbo power delivery of which the GTS imo has the better engine with 408bhp and better gearbox too. The T manual is not the best gearbox with vagueness in gearbox action in the upper ratios in particular.
Both will continue to hold their value well because of low build numbers particularly the manuals of which the GTS is very rare.

Rear seats are the usp of a 911, well to me they were.
Agree totally re light weight glass.
Sold mine last August, l still haven’t replaced it.
There’s not many options for a manual gearbox.
The shorter gearing made it too, and the narrow body was cool.
I sometimes regret it now, but l can’t be bothered with the Porsche pantomime of ordering something vaguely interesting !

Like many others in this thread i have been oscillating between 997 gts and 991 t... Interesting parallel.
I would also have bought a 991.2 gts manual with glass sunroof. Now i better get prepared to be stoned alive
997 GTS vs. 991 GTS vs. 991 T - that is exactly the conundrum I had a year ago.
I plumped for a manual T in the end and have been very happy so can heartily recommend one to you. It’s quick but not stupidly so therefore its possible to stretch its legs. Manual box could be better (especially when cold) but its a mechanical experience which takes some thought and adds to the experience.

Same. I came to my T from a 997.2 GTS. Personally, I prefer it - although the GTS was sublime when the powerkit kicked in as you headed for the red line.
I like the narrow body, the torque, the short shift manual gears, particularly when being lazy in sport mode and letting the car do the rev-matching. I like that I can listen to my favourite tunes via Spotify with my phone in my pocket. But that it still has buttons and analogue dials. I like the handling. I like that I once had a wonderful afternoon in a 991.2 GT3RS and when I got back in the T, although a gloriously different experience, I wasn’t disappointed.
A couple of weeks ago I did 430 motorway miles in it in a day and it did 35mpg! It’s a great all rounder for me.

rear seats put back in, pcm/ac added and no gt2rs lightweight windows - seems like it's not worth buying the T in that spec imo
Why ditch useful practicality for a misty-eyed vision of a car from 50 years ago? LW glass = no heated rear window and I'm slightly reassured by the (not much) extra privacy of the darkened glass. If I want a bit of extra exhaust noise (I don't), I can drop the window a bit.One of the best parts of the T is the engine noise, and there's no shortage of that.
