Quick question as locking spec as I've been fortunate enough to get an allocation
Trying to choose between
GT Silver or Guards Red
(had gentian on a prior car and found it too difficult and wife has vetoed black)
Hi, why did you find Gentian too difficult? To keep clean? Or was the paint prone to scratches, swirling?Trying to choose between
GT Silver or Guards Red

Both GT and GR are great colours and will contrast well with the grey bits.

April build, so May approx. Did you option in back seats? Which trim did you end up selecting?
Congrats on the allocation @bennnoI have gone GT silver and standard cloth seats as it is more retro, but red is very attractive.
I have gone with MT, as I am driving Boxster MT and I love the engagement, but PDK is great if you spend a lot of time in traffic.
I also got rear seats for my Schnauzers!
I will be getting my 992T at the same time ~May-23

I’m honestly not trying to be controversial, but why would anyone want a PDK T?
Surely the main attraction is to have a manual in a base Carrera?
Why not just order a Carrera and end up with a 992.2.
Are people ordering a T just to get a car quicker?
Why not, got a nice spec, 4.5/5 star reviews, a little exclusivity (if that’s your thing), plus a T will likely be worth more than a standard Carrera even with similar specs, clincher is can get the T very quickly potentially. Surely the main attraction is to have a manual in a base Carrera?

Better projected residual by 5% for PDK equipped cars. Dealer echoed comments below that demand higher.
Dealer also said 2 seat variant was previously much harder to shift….
The status of used prices for Cayman Rs and 991 T’s should tell them that, in the long term, manual 992 T’s will command more money. Dealer also said 2 seat variant was previously much harder to shift….
Should buckets come back in stock, the most sought after long term will be a manual with buckets (and all the trimmings).
The whole USP is a manual being available this low down in the 992 food chain.
Your dealers crystal ball needs a wipe.

Not sure of your ‘all the trimmings’ comment, that’s contrary to their low weight and price surely?

Porsche finance set the residuals, so presumably they know nothing either re PDK? Odd a PDK Spyder is more valuable than manual.

Get the transmission that you want and enjoy it. There is no right and wrong answers. Not sure of your ‘all the trimmings’ comment, that’s contrary to their low weight and price surely?
If you ask enthusiasts on the forum, you will get enthusiast answer. :-)

Dealers will know what sells well in 1-3 years time. I think they will advise you based on whether they expect you to hand it back within this time and therefore want the easiest 911 to shift. Most causal buyers of 911s want PDK and all the comfort options. Dealer also said 2 seat variant was previously much harder to shift….

True, are there more causal buyers then more enthusiasts.......?av185 said:
Specced my 991.2 T with comfort and free rear seat.
Anyone wanting to could always remove the rear seat but obvs you are restricting the appeal of the car if you spec rear seat delete.
My logic also. I mean, the rear seats add a few kg weight to the car, big deal, so why potentially alienate 50/75% of buyers by deletion of them? Anyone wanting to could always remove the rear seat but obvs you are restricting the appeal of the car if you spec rear seat delete.

I am coming round to that way of thinking ... I think I want the rear seat delete as it might feel more special. I think if you can get buckets then there is no point having rear seats. If comfort then you may as well option them in.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
