Anyone else managed to get an insurance quote. LV aren't listing the T as a model and they normally insist on 'sportier' versions having a tracker.
I Would switch insurers if they insist on tracker. Nfu and Admiral et Al don't need trackers even on the GT3 and GT4
No idea about NFU but I wouldn't personally insure something like a brand new 911 with Admiral. They don't cover additional spec on a car so if your car is £85k base and you spec it to £95k they'll only pay out £85k. And they'll only pay out on the equivalent base spec if the car is two or three years old. You have to tell them the full spec but it's not covered. At least that was the case when I moved my insurance from them a few years ago.

I switched my fleet of private cars to NFU around a year ago and can't see me moving from them unless their quotes become exorbitant.A lot of these online insurance quotes are based on the premise on never intending to pay out in the event of a claim..Personally if i have trouble with an insurance claim i need to have a door and face i can call on to sort things out.
Another huge bonus is the inclusive two year brand new car replacement policy which is unrivaled in the industry

I agree Taffy....although the two year brand new car replacement policy is replicated by Aviva Private Client...they do exactly the same thing as long as you buy the car new/not a demo. I moved to them earlier this year. No need for separate GAP insurance etc.

I think I will be speaking to NFU in that case.

I will need to insure my daily diesel 3 series as well as the carrera T, using my no claims bonus.

Great tip about NFU as only ever used for tractor before but will check out for cars now. One of life's little LOL moments is that the NFU agent in Coventry office is a Mr Chicken. Makes me smile every time the annual renewel letter arrives.

My experience of Admiral over the last 10 years has been perfect. 2 claims, one fault, one not. Both paid out and fixed by Porsche approved places with no problem. Gap insurance covers any shortfall in the event of the worst happening. Most insurers go to town on me because of my job (or just refuse me insurance), Admiral are one of the only reasonable quotes I ever get.

I 've had quite a few nice cars insured through Admiral over the years and they do seem to polarise opinion somewhat.

Because they are a mainstream insurer it is crucial to e mail them a copy of the cars purchase invoice showing all costed extras and also to get them to confirm in the event of a claim any repairs to the vehicle/glass/glass replacement is via the OPC at no penalty to the insured although this inevitably results in waiving the right to a courtesy car.

Admiral have major rule changes on cars over 3 years old, hence why you see people with new cars having no issue and people with 5 year old cars being conned with poor parts.

The GTS and both M3s at one point were both insurerd with Admiral and at over 5 years old they confirmed in writing at policy inception in the event of a claim this would be dealt with by my OPC.

Build confirmed: Should see the car within 5 weeks of next year. Buzzing.
Then it's off to Europe for some fun in Spring. Final spec Is a tad overboard but so be it. Still a third of the price of my Aventador S and I'm just as excited for it.

Interestingly I don't think the dealer has any more than 3-4 slots. Will be as rare as a GT3 however you slice it; however a different prospect of course.

If you are with Admiral and you SORN your car, I would run it past them.

When I told them one of my cars was SORNed they said that only cover vehichles that are taxed and have an MOT. Two seperate people there told me that.
