I'm not quite sure why you'd order a 992T and a 992S, other than an assumption that supply will remain restricted and the used market will continue to be as buoyant as current?
I ordered 992S in Nov 2021, and while there was no movement in the queue, 992T came along. I got an allocation and I should be collecting it in May.
Now I am not sure if I still need te 992S. Sorry, I wasn’t clear above.
Ah ok, so you have 2 x £5k deposits in with the dealer or did you move your deposit to the T?

Thats what I have done.

GTS cab build date May delivery June, no word on T build date ( of 4 orders no dates for any so far at my dealer ) and a bigger deposit on a turbo S cab that was supposed to be Christmas but I shall probably pull the plug on as with my build spec and price increase the price is just insane.

Agreed, I pulled my 5k deposit on a base 992 after 7 months without any allocation or indication of one being forthcoming.

I then ordered a 992T and got an allocation swiftly. I think last year a GTS was similarity available.

It feels like Porsche aren’t producing all models - they have production batches 2023 will be T heavy, suspect 22 was GTS

Strangely my '2' GTS cab was the only build slot they have for this year for a '2' GTS cab.

Seems '4' GTS models were more available.

Maybe as the 4 is more expensive and more therefore more of a margin?

It's a high spec example but with all the heavy options it dilutes the Carrera T ethos IMO. Add the PDK, 18ways and Pano roof etc and you might as well have gone for 992CS.

Mine will be Gentian in Manual, standard seats, rear seat delete, no Pano roof with only RAS as the solitary weight adding option.

I came to that conclusion re spec also. Plus as odd as it sounds the PDK stalk bugs me. I did figure that if you have the folding seats you may as well have the rear pews - if not then you might as well go buckets or buy a 718GTS.

Yes, separate deposit. I am still holding the 911S deposit/queue, to see what the 992.2 is all about, but slowly losing interest, as the 992T is promising to be a perfect car, for now smile

Interesting spec… out of interest, why white? Are you planning some cool decals that go well with white?
No particular reason, I thought it looked quite good on the configurator. I have GT Silver at the moment so fancy a change.

The more I look at my car the more I like the Grey mirrors, wheels/stripes. These would be lost to an extent on a silver car - suspect will work quite well with white though

My 992T has been delayed for a week… anticipation is off the charts 8-)

V260 - body shop was planned on the 07.04; actual 11.04.

Not a problem, I prefer not to have a car built over the Easter weekend. The best quality is achieved with continuous production at 80% capacity utilisation… please get on with it!

Did the Porsche Experience yesterday in a manual Carrera S. Looking at the compound on the way in they have got a Yellow T in now (which looked great). Some lovely cars on the track.. quite an eclectic mix compared to when I was there last. Also got a good view of an Alpine F1 car testing on the main circuit from the roof.

Anyone on this thread got a deposit in with Porsche Solihull? Apparently there are three people in the queue waiting an allocation before me.
My deposit was placed on 24/11/22.

Me! I was their second deposit in early ‘22 I think. Still discussing when I’ll take my allocation.

Loving my new T and despite being a “manual box” guy delighted I went PDK. To anyone waiting for cars - you won’t be disappointed chaps!

Pulled the Exige out yesterday for first run of the year. Intersting very contrasting driving experiences the two cars….

My 992 T is at Emden, grazing on concrete…
I decided to make its new home more hospitable:
