Yes, it’s at Emden, was built a couple of weeks backRAS.... i know its a "must have" since it is a performance item that the cooking version isn't allowed.
but i have driven a car without it and guess what, not sure you'd miss it.
maybe on track and it adds weight on the wrong end, i'm on the fence but understand for re-sale it's more desirable. but then which option isn't

I’ve had a few different 992s, and have always optioned with rear axle steering. but i have driven a car without it and guess what, not sure you'd miss it.

I also had a 992 C2 loan car for a far days, it didn’t have RAS, and it felt much less nimble. I didn’t like it

Porsche Solihull were kind enough to allocate an allocation to me! Likely delivery in October.
If you fancy taking a look at my spec, here's the code.
PRNMUTT3
Nothing too fancy apart from the Honda Prelude RWS (do try and keep up with the others..).

Personal choice, but my only comments are I would stick with the standard black exhaust pipes. Also add the exclusive rear lights (no red). Think both options are move in keeping with the more modern 992 look.

My current 812SF has RAS as standard and it is transformed compared to the previous F12 in terms of high speed stability, agility and handling. Again how much to do with RAS as they're different generations just like the 991.2 and 992 were.

Forgot to mention that I have a new 992T Manual coming soon, also with RAS but I'm considering removing it from the spec sheet to save money and weight and have a more traditional handling 911.
I might agree with you on that.I am also in line for an early ‘T’ but keep deferring my allocation in the hope that pccbs might become available as an option.
Firm believer that weight saving and minimal driver aids provide the purer, traditional, 911 experience.

Same here. Generally prefer simpler, lighter spec Porsches eg 2WD, Coupe, Manual, No Pano roof, etc, and a strong preference to add PCCBs.I am also in line for an early ‘T’ but keep deferring my allocation in the hope that pccbs might become available as an option.

I agree with the desire of simplicity in the spec of a 992T, but the 992’s wheelbase is over 100mm longer than a 996, and 180mm longer than a 993’s, so to make the car feel nimble and alive, then a 992 needs a bit of help in the form or rear axle steering.I am also in line for an early ‘T’ but keep deferring my allocation in the hope that pccbs might become available as an option.

I’ve tried C2 and C4 992 without RAS, and they just feel numb and inert compared to a car with RAS.
There’s no right or wrong here, but a long wheelbase 911 is going to feel quite numb compared to a short one.
Same is true when comparing a Ferrari 550 and 812…despite a big increase in wheelbase, they can create a naturally stable chassis on the 812 by adding some rear steering. Although drive a an F12 TDF for an early example of the technology, it’s a bit wild…In fact the Italian translation of their technology is ‘virtual short wheelbase’

Nice spec. I'd agree with the post above ref sticking with the black pipes. On the lights I left the standard ones but I was in Munich this week staying right by the Porsche dealer and nearly every 992 there had the smoky grey exclusive ones. Still happy with red on mine as contrast with a silver car though.Personal choice, but my only comments are I would stick with the standard black exhaust pipes. I'd keep the RAS. I thought the 'cooking' 992 rather dull, rather lacking in character. I suspect RAS will make it feel more alive. My 991T with it feels great - very agile and noticeably so compared with a 991 without.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
