The way they feel the need to cover up the car just shows how shady and sordid the whole overs / flipping thing has become. The owner is too ashamed to potentially identify themself. It speaks volumes.
Maybe - I also think it just adds a bit of an angle from a sales point of view - quite clever really - they always look so damm sexy in their shiny jackets smile

There's a 918 and an R which have appeared on their site in the last week too "under cover"....my guess is it's the same owner of all three.

What I don't get is why spec PDK if you're going to flip it and it's also interesting that they've advertised it as I am guessing that was a last resort.

Remember first allocations were PDK only - I assume that was why - too much of a risk to give up an allocation hoping to get a manual smile

Top 555 posted on Twitter that they had put a GT3 up for sale on their website today...couple of hours later it was sold. Comfort Spec, PDK, Guards Red with the painted interior which isn't everyone's favourite. Apprently not the first they have sold but the first publicly. No idea what it was up for.

Not to my taste but there's always a customer for a comfort spec!

Would be interesting to know what the split is between comfort seats and buckets; I get the feeling that the prevailing view you see on forums favouring buckets (often in somewhat dogmatic terms) may not reflect the balance of what's actually ordered new. Anyone got insight of the split in this respect?

This is from a thread running on Rennlist where someone has access to the data on all North American cars...massive take up of buckets. And of course you have to have buckets if you have CS (not available in US) which the uptake must be well over 50% I would think.

It seems Guards is becoming very popular again for some reason (not my personal cup of tea).

In an ideal world you would daily a comfort spec gt3 and have bucket gt3 for a weekend (or touring in some peoples case)...

Crikey! serious amount for Buckets! 50/50 on the brakes which my bet in the UK would be more like 80% PCCB's

Found out yesterday that one of the flipped cars came from my dealer. To say they were pissed off was an understatement./

Guy had a good buying history too and then just flipped it for an easy 50K.

Just spent a fun hour with the OPC finalising my spec. It is now complete! For those interested, here it is - PJU2D9Q6. The main dilemma was Folding Buckets or Full Bucket Seats. I wanted Folding, but I still think they sit too high so I have gone for Full Buckets which are height adjustable.

I've got folding buckets on mine. The first time I sat in the car I thought "oh a little high - made a cock up here". The truth is that I have since not though of it once, and no doubt the folding seats make the car more easily usable when chucking shopping backs in the back, especially if you have the cage.

More likely it’s only an option for LHD cars.

Only easy if you had a buyer/dealer lined up.
Let's not forget its tax free cash also, let's be honest even if you did get a golden ticket (a gt3 speccable allocation) it's hard to turn down an instant tax free profit as you say of £50k.
How much before tax would you need to earn to get the equivalent?

I appreciate to some its a minor thing and you shouldn't flip a car... but can you all say you wouldn't even consider it?
