I guess September build is next year MY, does that make sense looking at the VIN number ranges shown?

Generally cars model years start mid year which my 987 spyder was built in June 2011 was a 2012 MY so a car built in September 14 would most definitely would be a 2015MY. But could the engine numbers/ letter classification be different?

I had a chat with the chap at 911Sport today.

It is a UK car, 4 owners last changed hands via OPC Feb this year, the owner swapped for 488 and has again for 488 Spyder since.

Chaps said it has Porsche power train warranty until 2025 and can send me confirmation next week now.

I think it looks great in blue rather than the more usual white.

Couple of other questions please,
Is this a good time, spec and price?
Apart from the engine woes is there anything to look out for?
Looking at fixed price servicing seems ok.
Is insurance on these way over usual Carerra? Do they insist on trackers?

From informed owners what else should I look out for.

Cheers
Ed

If it was an OPC Feb17 sale, it should be warrantied to Feb19!

Not if it’s been sold into the trade. If it’s on SOR then the warranty is transferable but I believe it’s null & void on a trade sale.

Sorry, my mistake I wasn’t clear, yes it has a Porsche warranty until Feb 2019 plus the power train until 2025.

Its a good spec with Clubsport pack, lift, extended leather, and a nice colour. It has steel brakes which some prefer for track work due to the lower cost of replacing them. 4 owners is on the slightly high side for a less than 3 year old car but have seen higher. I think the price is OK as well but would want an 111 point inspection done at Porsche pre purchase which will confirm if will pass for a 2 year Porsche warranty which will cost you another £1750 on top.....

Re the Porsche warranty till Feb 19, I am assuming 911 Sport can't pass this on to the new owner unless it is SOR.

Thanks for the info Flat0ut very interesting.

I am unsure if it’s SOR so warranty is transferable but I do think I would like it in place so need to factor that in.

Thanks for responding
Ed

Admiral and NFU amongst others do not insist on tracker on Porsche GT cars excepting the GT2RS.

The 991.1 GT3 had tracker as standard fit. To activate you will need 2 fobs which should be with the car..... and the annual subscription.

Being a late car, if applicable and it had the new engine fitted on/after production at the factory you should be able to get a letter to this effect from the supplying OPC.

I just bought a very similar spec one (2015, Sapphire, Clubsport, lift, leather) but with PCCBs. I loved the colour.

Mine had two extra years of warranty (ending Dec 19). I believe it is Transferrable as it was taken out by previous owner rather than an independent dealer when selling the car.

Mine is just getting Xpel PPF put on as these cars seem to pick up a lot of chips.

On insurance: I’m going with NFU. They are very very competitive and don’t require a tracker for values sub 150k

Great to hear that Skittles I wondered if this was the very car you were talking about.

Please post some photos as and when you can.

NFU seems definitely worth a call.
