VWFS flexibility when moving from lease to PCP
Discussion
My Octavia VRS lease is up in July and I'm considering buying a Polo GTI on PCP as the total discount with scrappage offer is pretty good (I have a Mondeo as a second car).
I think the Polo would be a factory order and the scrappage deal "ends" in April. If I order in the next month or so, does anyone know if VWFS will let me end the lease slightly early with no penalty? If I have to pay, I may as well hold out and see what offers appear in Q2 but I quite fancy a change sooner rather than later!
Cheers

If you terminate the lease early they charge 55% of the remaining months. Not sure about any good will gesture.
The new Polo GTI has been released recently so I'm assuming you're going for one of those.
Does the car need to be registered before the end of April or ordered before the end of April for the scrappage scheme deal.

I recently spoke to VWFS about my contract as I wanted to pay the remaining payments in advance and ended up discussing all different parameters.
You can cancel the Lease and hand back the car for 50% of the remaining payments. In doing so the Mileage is pro-rata'd to the date of cancellation so if you have gone over that mileage you will have to pay the excess mileage charges as well.
The alternative to this is buying the car early, they will helpfully put you through to BCA who give you a valuation for the car. If you think this falls below what you could get for the car selling it yourself you could purchase the car from them and then sell it.
Whilst it wasn't suitable for my needs the helpful VWFS lady was keen to point out that if I wanted a new car the VW Dealer would have the ability to structure a deal on the new car that would see them exiting me the current lease and hopping into a new vehicle.
So I guess my point is that if you've seen a new car you want speak to the dealer as they will be able to extricate you from your lease far easier than you can do it by yourself.

Yeah, new polo. The + version with a few options is less than £20k with scrappage so it's a good price I think. Car has to be ordered by April, delivered by end of June, so if it was just one month I reckon I could work something out with VWFS. I suppose if they stick to their 55% then I'd have to see if the scrappage deal was going to carry on past April. The new Polo GTI has been released recently so I'm assuming you're going for one of those.

If its only one month then you can return it with no charge.I assume it takes around three months from ordering to getting it to your house so ordering it around March will get you the car in June.
Make sure you do a thread on it, maybe interested in getting one myself.
VWFS are really quite helpful when moving from one VAG lease to another i.e. if your new lease car's delivery date slips they'll let you keep your current one till it arrives.
Don't see why they wouldn't be just as helpful when you're staying with the brand but changing products. Definitely give them a call and play the brand loyalty card.

It doesn't work that way I'm afraid. I tried to end the lease on my golf early and take another golf lease. You are given 2 options - Don't see why they wouldn't be just as helpful when you're staying with the brand but changing products. Definitely give them a call and play the brand loyalty card.
1. - Pay 55% of outstanding payments (was £600 at the time) or. . .
2. - Sell the car to a VW Dealer. You have to take it to the dealer and they value the car, then you have to pay the difference to VWFS. Everyone was super helpful as I went through the whole process, then I got the quote - the shortfall was £1,500. No thanks.
There is no goodwill for staying with VWFS.
