Well not really anything like as bad as that, but wife came home and told me that she could plainly hear my ‘new’ hi fi out in the street! I asked if she could hear the clarity and dexterity of the mid range, would you judge the top frequencies as sounding like the of slivers of ice tumbling into a cut glass tumbler. She retorted ‘have you been drinking’ hehe
No just enjoying my music again!
Listening to dogs of war at the minute.

Thanks cracki, I purchased the used but excellent Rotel RA 1062 amp. My name is down on the waiting list for a Hegel H90 and when that comes up the Rotel will be back on sale. Although I am so pleased with the Rotel!
Wife goes to the local gym a fair amount, I prefer to tap my feet to music biggrin

thumbup Rotel's amps of that era, and just before, were very good indeed. They currently fetch about 50% more second hand than when they were new 20 years ago. I'm a big fan and use six to drive my active speakers.

Might be worth keeping the 1062 for a rainy day.

My OH never complains about the sound levels, but it has been known for our 18YO son to put his head round the door and complain that it's a bit loud. smile

The Rotel amps of that vintage and earlier are quality kit.
I'm playing with 6 Rotel Power amps on my Linn Isobariks at the moment.
I think they sound better than the Naim's I took out...

I used to own one of SVS's giant dustbin subs for my HC before I downsized it: https://www.svsound.com/products/pc12-plus

It used to vibrate the doors upstairs when it was set to 11.
